Hi All, Could you please provide information on the amount of leave granted during the notice period for EMP?
a
Thanks for asking Albus
The amount of leave granted during the notice period can depend on the company policy. Most companies restrict paid leaves (Casual) during the notice period because this time is dedicated for employees to do handover and knowledge transfer. However, if it's an unavoidable situation and employees have been in good terms, companies can grant paid leaves with a condition that the notice period will extend with every leave taken. For instance, at Springworks, personal time off is allowed even in the notice period, but they expect fair usage of the same.

We genera use Ee; EMP is used for a different program. πŸ™‚ In all my past companies, employee on notice period are eligible for leaves based on the leave availability in their basket and manager approval.

Usually paid leave won’t be given during notice period. However you can take leave from your earned leave ensuring that the handover and knowledge transfer will be done properly.

I came across offer letters that mention not taking any leaves during the notice period, and if they do, the notice period is extended. Some companies mention that leaves can be taken with manager approval. Most managers approve leaves out of courtesy. I also came across employees who utilize all of their earned leaves during the notice period once they complete the KT or avoid KT as a gesture of hatred towards the company. If the issue is regarding knowledge transfer then, To improve knowledge transfer in an organization, I would suggest having regular knowledge transfer sessions every six months. This would allow employees to become aware of the work done by other employees in their department or team. The notes from these sessions could then be shared with subordinates, providing them with a learning curve and helping them to understand the different roles and responsibilities within the organization. For critical, important, or niche skills or roles, knowledge transfer sessions should be conducted more often.
