When will we be able to use Markdown in the Header? I remember you were working on a Markdown editor a few weeks ago.

I *need* to use line jumps and bold to improve our UX.

It is really dragging for me, some functions (like visibility filters) aren't working and pulling in data for related records is really slow. Plus this looks new to me ...

What I’m noticing on the new *Permissions* screen is that all permission levels seem to be checked by default and it’s not until you click on the edit action (pencil button) that the check boxes are actually refreshed to reflect the View, Update or Create option chosen. So that means you’ll need to carefully go through every permission setting to make sure each reflects what you intended.

And they buried the new one in a sub menu -&gt; modal without a copy link button! Which means it takes 4 clicks to retrieve the link.

I took one look at this and said “Yeah Nah” and my clients just don’t get to use this feature anymore.

<@U024YE9EQEL> we started using <http://marker.io|marker.io> and had the stacker team put scripts in per app. ie with <http://marker.io|marker.io> you can make multiple widgets that are integrated with an asana board.

<http://marker.io|marker.io> does 5 things:
• takes a screen shot of what the user is looking at
• allows the user to draw on it
• provides fields that they can fillout that become the asana ticket
• grabs a copy on the console inc console logs and errors and adds it as context (this is not that helpful as you cannot add custom logs in stacker - but it could be useful if you need to  report bugs to stacker)
• environment info (browser, screen resolution and operating system - inc version)
This makes debugging as a developer far far easier.

You can apply additional filtering for some specific fields that are list of records. (relationships)

Hi <@U01B1LTTYQJ>, we have also done a version of this. We use one app, and connect a unique base (data source) for each client. The way we do this is by using tabs as our navigation (as opposed to the built in navigation) and displaying everything through each client's record. Each tab has many related list fields, each attached to a unique base, however each field is filtered to only show for a specific client. So imagine a detail page or tab, with 30 related list fields, but depending on the client who is logged in, and therefore a specific record used, they will only see one of those related lists.

Here’s a short video example of what I’m referring to above.

You need to uncheck the "All Roles" in that table layout for this to become unlocked.

I seem to have trouble getting the *Enable Customer Access* setting to appear in my app. Is there a previous step I need to take?

How can I enable Customer Access on my app? The options from the menu are not being displayed from the App Settings menu.

Can I format a Formula field to show as a Currency? I’m combining an initial investment with the return on investment, and want to show investors a formatted number. The output of the formula is just an unformatted number.

Hi <@U02R50CHQ4R>, you can add the currency symbol to the front of your formula to display as a currency.

If you are trying to add decimal points, you will need to multiple by 10 or divide by 10 depending on which direction you want it to move.

How about commas for large numbers? say the output of the formula is 1850000.. can I add commas?

I don’t think it is going to be possible to add in commas, unfortunately, we did add this feature in Astra where you can now select that your Formula show as a Currency:

Curious if there is a way to migrate my classic instance to Astra?

There is not a one-click migrate, unfortunately, if you are using Stacker tables you can export your information as a CSV and import the CSV into Stacker - Astra.

If you are using Airtable, we do have an early version of the connector that we can enable for you to get started on moving information over. Let me know if this is something you would like to chat about further or if you would like me to create a workspace with the Airtable connector!


Anyone else facing significant increases in synching time between airtable and stacker ("old version") today?
It used to update changes within a couple of seconds and now it takes several minutes.
I even had to manually update the data within the Stacker table view.

We’ve observed an hour or two delay in the last few weeks on our User table. :confused:

We have potential clients testing our app right now and they already mentioned the issue themselves.

<@UP4DXQALD> haven’t we seen this problem with changes to the User Table taking multiple hours to propogate?

<@USCPEEY8P> yes most recently it took multiple hours for a user’s email address to update in stacker

Apologies for the delay here. We do understand that this is important to your usage of Stacker and we are sorry for the inconvenience this is causing!

We are looking for a long term fix to help with overall performance of the real time updates in Stacker. This, unfortunately, is not a quick fix and has required some additional investigation. I wish I had more positive news for you atm, but will keep you updated on any further news of the issue.

I have asked our engineering team for a little bit more information and an update and they have said that we know that there is an issue with real times updates in Stacker, no known Airtable sync issues. The real time updates refer to the updates that happen within Stacker when a change is made in Stacker. We believe it could be impacting everybody but is likely happening more for people with lots of data. Hope this helps clear up the issue a little bit more!

The issue I’ve noticed was more related to changes done in Airtable (automation run) which wouldn’t display in Stacker as fast as it used to do

It’s working well because the data flow is different
It comes from Stacker into Airtable

The issue with the sync is the other way around, it’s changes in Airtable that aren’t being reflected on Stacker as fast as it used to be

I haven’t noticed a latency from Stacker to Stacker.
And some of my affected clients have very little data in Stacker, just a few hundreds records.

We're still investigating — I'm afraid we're still not able to give you the answers to those questions, as we're still totally uncertain as to why you're seeing delays. We're working hard to diagnose the problem, and once we know anything we'll let you know

I've removed access to the Airtable base and repaired it afterwards.
Right now the synch is working again, pretty well.

Will test it again in a couple of hours to see if it is still working well.

Could it be so simple?

I synced the schema of the table and it fixed the bug. Should it be automatic ? (and will it be in Astra ?)

Hmm, this can happen when the schema is out of sync.

Schema syncs are automatic, we will sync the whole data base every 24 hours to stay up to date _and_ whenever you make a change to your schema, but it may require you to refresh your page to see the new schema option. Hope that helps!

It's weird, I hadn't made any changes in the last weeks
