What is your go-to brand for micronutrient supplements in India? There are so many (healthVit, herbaLife, HealthKart and more) it’s hard to decide.

healthvit, now foods, solar all good - me and some folks are on some supplements for a long time now
most important - Vitamin D

Thanks Pravin, will get HealthVit. I was also looking for Vit D. πŸ™‚

I usually don;t care for the brand as much as for the dosage and other additives in the micro-nutrients. Our body is usually very very bad in absorbing micronutirients from the supplements anyways and reacts differently based on what the current levels are, hence sometimes you need other things to increase the absorption. Even the dosage greatly varies depending on your current state. I usually get a blood test every 3-6 months and tweak things according to what the values are and what things I am aiming for. For something like Vit D, the normal supplements in the market might be borderline useless (this is especially true for Vit D, and applies to a lot of other supplements too B12, Omega3 etc). Rather than choosing a brand, I would suggest that you get a blood test done, and depending on what levels the various parameters are, do some research on what exactly you need and then choose accordingly

@rough-autumn-89795 this should be enough for Vit D numbers, but test is a must @purple-animal-84963 any other biohacks or tests you did apart from vitamins, omega 3's, magnesium etc?

@swift-pilot-25722 the vitd number good look, however taking a dosage every day just doesn't work for me. I usually take a dosage of 60k IU once a week if less <20 and slowly taper it off to once a month > 30 units, and yeah I agree, right levels of vit D just makes your life so much better
Other than that yeah its pretty much the same, omega3s (3-5k mg a day), b12, magnesium
I do monitor the inflammation in the body so depending on that, I add curcumin and vit C
more than taking anything, I have spent a lot of time finding the right ones that work for me and then tweaking the dosage too (most of the guidelines for a the general population is for Caucasians and they also have a wide range, so you really have to tweak them a/c to your requirements ). Like for omega3, I am pretty sure every supplement works, however its about the quantity, for the dosage I need, I would have to take 30-50 capsules of the normal ones vs 2-3 with the right ones and then obsessively checking in the blood tests if it helped or not

@purple-animal-84963 yup, sounds good - for me and many others, Vit D is a daily thing, weekly never works well in long term for me, but glad it worked for you

@swift-pilot-25722 thanks for the book recommendation.
