I agree with @some-city-49619 the biggest benefit is 44ada. It has the potential to change the tax bracket directly. Btw is there anyone here who has idea about GST registration for remote workers? If a business has >20L of income they need to file GST. What are the rules for us?

You need to register GST and file nill returns all 13 returns - and this is only when u declare yourself as proprietor OR you run a company from here to cater your clients. not for simple 44ADA

generally a CA would do this in 10-15K annually for you. this way you can also save further GST paid on your office/work related stuff but you need to be careful on another aspect of 8% income/profit in this case.. in long run those 92% should be expenses not your stashed money

Hey folks 👋 There has been some interest with this and I have been pinged by a few folks on this topic. I am thinking of doing a webinar sort of thing for anyone who is interested. Please fill up this form and if there is enough interest, I can prepare a PPT and schedule something. I am thinking it would be about 30m of slides with 30m or more of QnA if required. Had a good talk with @calm-grass-85557 and @abundant-jackal-54634. Should do something like this now often. Just casual talks over dinner or lunch. 🤘 😄

Made a bad move picking up a consulting gig. 2 weeks of work and the requirements have changed twice. Major changes. Once, they upgrade ruby to a new version without informing me

I really want to return the initial money they gave me and walk out of the contract. I'd like suggestions on how to handle this!

This happens, and you're not alone on this bud. do you have a contract in place? is there a defined scope of work? are they a big player that could otherwise affect your future work with other people?

We (my wife and I) have ended contracts early. If you're willing to return money to them, so it's at no cost, I think there's a chance there will be no negative outcome. I'm not speaking from a legal perspective, as I'm only semi-versed in UK contracting. If you think there's no way to rectify the problems, then you should look to engineer an exit. Ensure that you're following the terms of your agreement.

I'm not sure I can say there's no way to rectify the problems.

So, what I've done in the past few minutes is I've shot an email to the founder who reached out to me to do the gig and reminded him of what we spoke and agreed upon before we wrote down the contract.

I told him that I'm stopping work till they figure their shit out and freeze requirements.

If the requirements change, then we have to re-visit the contract since thats not what we initially agreed to work upon...

But if you were respectful, then it sounds fair to me. You can't do your job if the goalposts change without your knowledge
