because redhat said 'nobody used it, so we don't ship it anymore'. yeah well your last version was broken and you didn't update it, nobody was able to use it

so there was so much complain about it that systemd devs introduced a new feature and their networkd was able to build against really old libs and made it into EPEL 8 ( and eventually EPEL9)

tl;dr I really hate redhat; pls use EPEL on RHEL; pls use systemd-networkd

Oh we have this:

which i think is pretty much what EPEL’s system-networkd does… Or at least how I understand it.

I assumed amazon linux 2023 would be compatible with EPEL8 or EPEL9
