    because redhat said 'nobody used it, so we don't ship it anymore'. yeah well your last version was broken and you didn't update it, nobody was able to use it

    so there was so much complain about it that systemd devs introduced a new feature and their networkd was able to build against really old libs and made it into EPEL 8 ( and eventually EPEL9)
