    For
    pdk new module
it looks like it just copies the contents: https://github.com/puppetlabs/pdk/blob/v2.6.1/lib/pdk/generate/module.rb#L67

[SOLVED] I have defined a class
    proxy
    and a defined resource type
    proxy_host
    . inside the
    proxy.pp
class declaration, can I extract the title of all defined
    proxy_host
instances? how? solved: never mind, I can do this in a different way. I'm curious about the procedure to do this, but I don't need this.

(If anyone is curious, this was to provide the
    MDomain host1 host2...
    directive for Apache HTTPD mod_md)

Can someone point me to a good review or two of PuppetDB? Lot's of info on how to do it, etc. But I'm looking for other bits of details, like - 1. pros/cons of running on same machine as puppetserver vs. standalone server 2. use cases - what are most people using it doing with it? 3. known issues, caveats, et. al. 4. if puppetdb goes down, or has issues - does this affect everything else? Will our puppet clients be affected? 5. also curious, how old is puppetdb, when was it created?

does anyone use puppetlabs/java_ks with puppet 7? It randomly fails with
    Copy code
change from 'present' to 'latest' failed: Execution of 'keytool -v -printcert -file /tmp/certificate20230313-11787-1fogisx' returned 1: keytool error: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /tmp/certificate20230313-11787-1fogisx (No such file or directory)
java.io.FileNotFoundException: /tmp/certificate20230313-11787-1fogisx (No such file or directory)
but that tmp file is created by provider itself, so why?

Frankly, lots of these random hiccups after switching to v7 - eyaml-gpg randomly can't find private key. code manager times out and so on

I wonder if some parallelism was introduced that doesn't work quite well ?

It’ll cause constant permanent failures.. but the problem is random.. looks like race condition

I'm looking for a puppet module that will create facts which report if a file exists on the client's filesystem (or not). The case I'm trying to solve is to add a conditional into my puppet. That conditional being true/false based upon the existence of an arbitrary file on the filesystem of the puppet client. Before I build my own fact for it I wondered if anyone knew of a module that already provided this.

seems a bit specific to put in a module or you would need to manage a config file which would delay the fact being picked up until a later puppet run. Seems like a very simple/specific fact to write yourself?

Yeah, the fact, if it existed, would need some kind of two-stage process, even though you could probably dynamically generated the facts.

    But it's really just
    Copy code
    Facter.add(:my_file) do
      setcode do
        File.exist?('path')
      end
    end
And you could probably golf around the setcode, but that's it.

    Slap it into
    lib/facter/my_file.rb
in some module (I just use our
    profile
module for simple ones) and go

I'm got my control-repo running on GitHub Enterprise Cloud and puppet server running in a GCP vm with no external IP or NAT. Any suggestions what bits and pieces I could use to trigger r10k from github?
