    I am not familiar with FastAPI. Maybe someone else here is. If you need to send the data encoded as json then consider using the htmx extension https://htmx.org/extensions/json-enc/

    I remember from lurking here couple of months back that htmx is not the way to go for client side polling - is this still the case, or did I mix something up in my memory (I want to poll an API and display its data)

    So I would use the polling with ajax on an element and swap the content every time, right? This means, my API must return pure HTML

    if you're using htmx, the expectation is that you are consuming HTML from the endpoint

    if there's a third party API you could poll /my_backend_route which calls /third_party_route, takes the json results, injects them into html and gives you html to swap in

    I think this exists already, I was kind of hoping I could swap my Django RestFramework endpoints with: https://github.com/jdevries3133/django_htmx_rest?ref=pythonrepo.com htmx-rest endpoints. So far I only found this git, but no working examples.

    It exists, it's using Django template to hydrate with the json results

    It's unclear to me why switching to

    makes the viewport scroll to just page nav when it should be the top of the page.

    Got an issue with htmx and go. I can’t unsee it. Spent almost 10 years on frameworks and now I look at every json conversion and mapping as an unnecessary failure mode. Thanks, thanks a lot.

    Why is there no form error box like this when using HX-post? The form is not submitted, which is good. But there is no error message like this. Is this normal?

    how is the hx-post being triggered? Is it on submit of the form?

    Ah yeah, thats because it was initially on a button, but then i realised by doing this you lose the form validation.
