How or where would be the best way to handle that? [update] Figured it out - thanks.
  • a
Is there a way to have htmx swap the response of hx-get/hx-post into the DOM... but have htmx or hyperscript not process the new nodes ... i.e. when you know there's no new htmx/hyperscript attribs in the new content... then skip the processing of it?
  • a
This is a little niche .. but we're sometimes swopping in new options for a select ..and currently those can run into the thousands (I know this is bad and we are gonna change it, pinky-promise)
  • g
    it's 2
    querySelector
calls... are you having perf issues?
  • a
Well... thb I've not tried it with htmx/hyperscript yet ... but in intercooler it was dog slow ... as in "lock the browser up for 10 seconds" bad... so we resorted to Jquery for those
  • a
But.. now I know I'm gonna have to try it 1st to prove whether there's really still a perf issue with htmx/hyperscript ... otherwise you might rule 7b me 😅
  • m
htmx should be faster than intercooler was, but if not there is no shame in a bit of javascript or a
    fetch
  • a
    Another question - this works:
    hx-trigger="load, changed from:#id1"
    but this doesn't?
    hx-trigger="load, changed from:#id1,#id2"
  • a
I.e. the "from" multiple selectors bit
  • m
  • a
hmm...I agree, its just doing a plain
    querySelectorAll(selectors);
    🤔
  • m
    can you debug it?
  • a
But yet it isn't working. Let me debug ... yes
  • m
and see what the result of that query selector is?
  • a
    gimme a sec..
  • m
    👍
  • g
    Copy code
    js
let from_arg = consumeUntil(tokens, WHITESPACE_OR_COMMA);
  • g
  • g
@User try quoting the selector maybe
  • a
    trying...
  • a
... nope, no good with quoting. Gonna debug quick..
  • a
Hmmm.. it looks to me that once it hits that line, only the 1st event in the list is contained in
    triggerSpec.from
    ?
  • m
OK, the parsing must be wrong then
  • m
    "parsing"
  • m
  • m
    iirc, someone recently patched this
  • m
(sorry, life has had me away from htmx and hyperscript for a bit)
  • m
of course, as a work around, I can suggest a class that is common to both elements
  • a
Yes, I'm gonna go the class route. cleaner anyway. Thanks!
