    Update: it worked! The htmx.process() is what fixes it. I was just missing a 
    from:body

    Although it seemed to work, upon closer inspection I found out that htmx.process() only works once. The hyperscript script succeeds in changing the hx-get attribute every time when my select is changed, and I can see it in the dev console, but the htmx.process which is called after that does not refresh the things behind the scene, and the request is sent with the same earlier value as the first time.

    I guess once htmx is initialized for the element that's it, you can't change the request path again. What I do to be able to change the path programatically is hook into the 
    htmx:configRequest
    event and then change 
    evt.detail.path
    which is what eventually gets used for the request.

    I have decided to go with a simpler solution. My django view url was like this: 
    cases/<case_id>/permissions/<user_id>/
    But I have now changed it to simply: 
    cases/<case_id>/permissions/
    and now I send my user_id through a form's get request. I realized I dont need a pretty url, query parameters will do just fine because this is an ajax request anyway and the browser url will as it is.

    Hi there. I have a select input with options. each option has a url value. What's the easiest way to navigate to that url when the option is selected?

    I'm not saying an ajax request necessarily. I'm looking for the equivalent to setting the window location with a value coming from the selected option on change

    You can do it easily with hyperscript, using something like this in the 'select' element:

    is one of the possible syntaxes of the 
    go
    command - it just tells the command that you're going to a whole new page, rather than going to an anchor or element on the same page.

    ok... one more question... what if the value of the option is not the full url, but a value of a param?

    /some/path?option=<value>

    value=123
    and so on

    The url is just a string, so you can build your string dynamically: instead of using 
    go to url my value
    use something like:

    If you load content with htmx will hyperscript in that content be initialized - if not how do you force it to initialize?

    Ok this is weird as I realized that I have another part of the app where I already do this and it works. I've added some test code in to load the following. The first part is on page load, the second , id test, is filled in after htmx makes a call to get the content from a link. The first div from the page load will trigger the alert, the second from the htmx call does nothing.

    I see the difference, that part of the code is actually using hyperscript fetch on the link to load content - the part of my app that works was using htmx to load content.

    htmx content is properly processed automatically, but hyperscript content isn't (we are thinking about how to best do that)
