I wouldn't mind getting skillz to make good strong apps though.

React-native is a thing. Coconut doesn't have that, although I guess it could, eventually.

    coconut does have react native

It's all just too big a world for me and my 10th-in-line-hobby-project. 😄

I don't even fully know what react native is. 😄

Like, what does it support. Is it even really faster/less mem?

it basically does what haxe does

    but in javascript
  • a

    ambitious-knife-25690

    01/16/2020, 6:09 PM
javascript code is mapped to native externs

I doubt you could take big html5 game and port it natively, otherwise I guess cross code port wouldn't need Robert to spend a year on crazyass crosscompiler. 😄

Would it support any JS code and any CSS frameworks?
  • a

it has its own style definition but follows the CSS spec exactly

    somethings aren't available

    Right.

    ambitious-knife-25690

but almost everything is replaced in someway

    I've never found otherwise

    Well, future problems I guess.
  • a

    ambitious-knife-25690

I think it does just use CSS though but tries to use native implementations where possible

It's not like I actually even need that kind of performance. The only actual product I have in mind is my secondary business idea and would mostly be run on office computers and is basically a big ass table.

It just feels so much nicer to use the app

As long as I could render that fast enough, rest is not important.

i had a basic app and first did it in haxe-react

Hmm, I wonder how far progressive web apps have come.

I mean, the point of those is that it looks completely native.

the "responsiveness" I got when moving everything to haxe rn was so nice
