You can say it is getting worse. But pretty much expected. It's like when a plant is dead, you'll expect it to rot over time. Anyway, finding opportunities outside Hong Kong is a wise move right now imo.

Back to the topic, I think Haxe react is very usable, both via coconut or react-next (I mostly use coconut though). Thanks to the tink_hxx parser

I guess there may be cases where other parts of your code base are also Haxe, and you want to leverage existing code

stupid question, can I use nextjs with haxe?
  • t

    tall-teacher-57409

    03/02/2023, 6:20 PM
or if possible, is that easy to set up?

you can use nextjs with haxe

    ambitious-knife-25690

but i don't think there's any existing externs for it

    oh I see
  • t

    tall-teacher-57409

is it easy to write one?
  • t

    tall-teacher-57409

    probably not
  • a

    ambitious-knife-25690

js externs are probably the easiest to write, but, if you've never done it before it is likely gonna be difficult
  • a

    ambitious-knife-25690

    03/02/2023, 6:54 PM
its mostly just reading from a js api and copying over to haxe
  • a

    ambitious-knife-25690

    03/02/2023, 6:54 PM
but the complexity of the library can make that harder
  • a

    ambitious-knife-25690

    03/02/2023, 6:55 PM
like react externs are harder externs to make because of the way react is built
  • t

    tall-teacher-57409

    hmm

    you could use dts2hx
  • a

    ambitious-knife-25690

    03/03/2023, 8:58 PM
dts2hx wouldn't be able to port something like react
  • a

and it can't do the new typescript version
