As I've said the goal is to catch up on the feature list with the original dev.

Really, I am impressed that someone was maintaining a file that long at all.

To the extent that I have to ask in help tracing it at times from him.

i cant remember where i saw it now, it was years ago also, but i once saw an app that was like 10000 lines long and was just a spagetti of ifs

Often it's easier to just ask "so what did you intend to do here?" than try to fix his code and pull it across.

That app would have me slamming my head against the table.

@bright-gpu-74537 the backend component is responsible for rendering its text/surface/input text right?

If so, I don’t think FlxSprite would be the best base class to use, since it doesn’t automatically handle those

Unless I manually handle those ā€œchildrenā€ at that level, and then separately handle component children

Vs like FlxGroup which can treat them all as children as far as rendering and updating by default

right, fair enough... i mean, i dont know what the best flixel class to use is, for sure. It may have been a bug with flixel, but when i tried the collision sample with haxeui it went really strange, then when i removed haxeui and tried with a flxspritegroup, it acted just as strange
