I didn't explore the route of rendering all opaques first and then transparents

And Ceramic also support using multiple textures in a single batch

(which can really improve performances in some situations, like when using 2 textures in alternance, which would generate a lot of draw calls otherwise)

End of the WE project: reading
    .aseprite

Testing hot reload of aseprite projects within Ceramic. The atlas shared for multiple aseprite files is updated on reload and the displayed sprites as well

I might switch to libresprite just for this (or just buy aseprite 😉)

    What are you using now?

Pixelorama for pixel art, krita for normal art

Actually there might be a plugin for pixelorama that exports to aseprite files

Ceramic also supports the json format exported by aseprite, probably easier to generate that (although at the moment I didn’t implement the shared atlas packing on the fly feature for the json format, as it’s already an atlas itself)

you can also just compile aseprite from source to use it for free

    > The only restriction in Aseprite EULA is that you cannot redistribute Aseprite to third parties.

To be frank, Aseprite is worth every penny. If you can afford it I'd suggest to just buy it

i do agree, but it is cool that if you know how to use a terminal you can get it for free in a way that they have no issues with

That editor has bugs that need a substantial rewrite to be fixed.

I'd like to make a simpler editor later, but can't say when
