For those of you who have accounts in multiple places (checking, savings, high yield savings, ccs, loans, insurance, investment, retirement accounts, etc), how do you keep track of all the places you have money? I'm thinking specifically: 1. List of institutions, websites, logins 2. Who else knows the full list? 3. For chvsh inheritance purposes, where is this info listed? 4. How often do you check balances, fees, etc?

For security reasons you should have all the logins in something like 1pasword. My wife has access to that vault of accounts. The access codes to unlock that with a manual key are part of my will. I check all my accounts daily by opening up my mint.com account to check everything all at once and see if there are any weird balances or fees.

I use YNAB (you need a budget) and it keeps everything there. Personally I liked it better than mint. Same with Baruch for passwords, I was using last pass but I just switched to 1Password. My wife is constantly asking me for passwords because she doesn’t want to use it lol. I check balances only so often to make sure I have the right number in YNAB and in my account, and regarding fee’s.. I have either a line item in my budget that I save for or I use WalletFlo to remind me, but I’m on the banks sites frequently enough that if I forget one, I can call within 30 days to cancel the card
