Great episode. Reaching coast fi has incredibly changed my life. I love the perspective that this gives you to be able to truly choose to only spend your time on what you value. A really great keli to catch all the brachos Hashem sends us. https://pca.st/episode/82df1ae6-cdd5-4b01-bb1c-cd4fe3813471

Is this a YNAB bug, or am I missing something? 1400 per week = 5600 a month even if you want to be very exact because there are more that 28 days in almost every month, 1400/7*31 = 6200 So what's going on here?

I recently had an at-fault collision, and I am trying to calculate whether it is wiser to pay out-of-pocket or file a claim. I found Geico's Casualty Rating Plan (I use Geico) and I calculated it as applied to my current plan. The issue is that I recalculated it a few times and kept making mistakes so I no longer fully trust my calculations. Would someone be willing to quickly look over them for me to reassure me or correct me? Also does anyone know if a claim can be made after the car is already fixed?

Does anyone know the cost of living in EY compared to established frum community? The government indexes are inaccurate as they calculate cost of non-kosher food in America versus kosher food in Israel

We don't have a #health-care channel so gonna ask here: @nutritious-raincoat-28876 (or anyone else who knows), does your strategy of letting medical bills go to collections work if it's already a negotiated price with insurance that you have to pay out of pocket until the deductible is hit? Additionally, does it work if you have to keep going back to the same provider for future medical needs? I.e. will they not service you if you keep not paying your bills? (not sure if they're legally allowed to do that)

Is it ever worth it to pay more social security tax in order to get higher benefits? case in point-a rebbi in yeshiva has a choice to take his salary as parsonage and pay 15% social security tax, or use it to pay his childrens' tuition and pay no tax. Is there any situation its better to choose the parsonage?

Can you afford to host the seder… and still cover your electric bill? For too many families, the costs of Pesach - matzah, wine, produce, meat, kids’ shoes, and clothing - pile up fast. And there’s nothing left for basic needs. That’s why we started the Maos Chittim Fund at frum finance - To help families doing their best but still can’t make Yom Tov work. ✅ Families are vetted and actively working toward long-term stability ✅ We match donations locally whenever possible ✅ 100% of funds go directly toward Pesach needs - no overhead, no delays This Yom Tov, let’s help our neighbors feel joy at their table, not dread. Give generously this Pesach and bring peace of mind to families who need it most: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/maos-chitim-2

When the market crashes from reduced expectations, I tend to feel two strong emotions. The first is disappointment that my family, friends, and neighbors will have to make significant lifestyle adjustments in response. The second is hope that some of them will decide to face the reality that financial literacy actually matters.

Where can I read more about school choice or tax credits? I don’t totally understand it but I understand the idea of getting $5000-$10,000 per kid to send them to school Jewish school lol. Trying to understand which states offer what, what the process is like, and how to take it into consideration if thinking of moving. We just moved last year so moving sounds like a terrible idea but we have 1 kid in the cheder and next year sending another so I’m just thinking that this is going to start adding up lol..

Going into second days, I wanted to share with people the extremely powerful effect our maos Chitim campaign has had...
We were so grateful to receive a substantial donation from Baruch just in time to pay for our crucial and essential Pesach needs. This time of year was a financial challenge as we struggled to pay for all of our multiple Pesach expenses and Baruch and the Frum Finance donors really came through. We thank everyone so much! May Hashem bentch Baruch and all the donors and everyone who needs with an abundance of good Mazal and revealed Brachos.
    Baruch and Frum.Finance,
The Maos Chitim stipend you sent us was incredibly touching and came at just the right time. It’s bringing real relief to my wife and I during this hectic Yom Tov season. Please pass along our heartfelt thanks to the generous benefactors; their kindness is making a true difference for our family, adding both comfort and Simchas Yom Tov.
We’re davening that they be blessed with abundant parnassah, good health, happiness, only revealed good, and Hashem’s overflowing brachos in every area of life.
    Thank you all!

We bought our house last June at a 6.99% interest rate. I've recently been getting emails from my lender about refinancing. Have the rates really dropped enough to make refinancing worth it?

#investing I feel like a dummy being unable to figure this out. I recently opened an IRA through M1 and put in $7,000. I wanted to purchase one share of Berkshire-Hathaway class B (in order to get a discount on my Geico car insurance premiums) and invest all the rest in VTI. I kept trying different things on the website and finally thought I did it yesterday, but when I checked now, the money for VTI was invested but the amount I set for Berkshire-Hathaway was still in cash (and the price rose so the cash won't even cover it). What is the way to do this? I only see how to invest percentages of money available, not how to buy one stock and invest all the rest.

Anyone else feel stuck in a tuition hole? For me, incremental increases in income barely register, because most discretionary money gets channeled to tuition until you are paying in full. It would take a huge raise for me to be able to pay in full and then have a decent amount left over.
