Lightning network is both off-chain and centralized, google it properly to get your facts straight. Did you read the links I included? It would clear up a lot of your misconceptions about Lightning network. The first link answers in detail why high fees on layer one break the security of Lightning network.

How so? they can just choose when they want to settle the channel

So, the idea is:in the profile of the Twitter bot there is a link where you can ā€œlogin with Twitterā€ and see/use your funds

Because by settling the channel they would pay higher fees than their transaction, which is economically irrational. Read the link, it explains it in detail.

that's somewhat of a condescending statement.. you claim it's centralized yet you provide only "google it" as to back up your clain

From ChatGPT with web enabled. ā€œThe Lightning Network is not completely centralized, but it has some elements of centralization. The growing number of Lightning Hubs, which are companies or wealthy individuals creating a large number of Lightning nodes and channels, has led to concerns about centralization. Additionally, it can be difficult and costly for individuals to run their own Lightning nodes, which may result in a small group of entities controlling transactions on the network. While the Lightning Network is designed as a decentralized system, these factors contribute to a certain degree of centralization in practice.ā€

What I meant is it's more centralized than expected because it structurally rewards well connected nodes. It's more centralized than Bitcoin layer 1. With time these nodes become bigger and bigger and there are fewer and fewer of them that process most of transactions.

there's a difference between being a lightning user with a single channel opened to a routing node and being a routing node, I hope you understand that. The routing nodes are basically treated as a business that expect a fee market to develop, essentially staking bitcoin to keep channels opened

You can argue it's not, it depends on your definition of centralization.

Interesting. So in this era and going forward, we're just going to rely on Google Maps to guide us everywhere. No more asking locals for directions or using an old-fashioned paper map. We've become so dependent that we're practically inviting Google to dictate our every move. And that leads us to where? People idly following the blue dot, not even bothering to learn the layout of their own city. It's like we're entrusting our sense of direction to a piece of software. I wonder, is Google becoming the ultimate pathfinder? You can shape people's journeys just by tweaking the algorithms of this app. We're surrendering our navigational autonomy way too easily.

There's a big difference. Google Maps is reliable 99.99% of the time, ChatGPT not. Very unreliable, in fact. In the future AI will improve significantly though.

Very geneous, gmaps is not anywhere near that IME. Takes years to pick up new estates, roads, etc. If you assume it's 0% reliable it's still a great tool, just gotta check (or ask it too). With web it's just as reliable as someone googling and taking a quick skim
