"Do I need a server?" - I initially thought that maybe the provisioning of workspaces would all happen on my machine with a CLI, until I found out about coderd

- "is it free?"/"can I self-host it?"
- "my template doesn't work, what do I do?", would point to the discord and docker debugging steps

Can we set a limit on how many workspaces a user can run/start at a single time?
And how many they can create?

There isn't a feature like that yet, but we have an issue where we are discussing different options: https://github.com/coder/coder/issues/2121

Another option is a basic "limit" on templates:

if a terraform state file is defined in a workspace template, will it be used instead of the state file present in the database?

nope. to debug, you can change the state with `coder state <push/pull>`

In 2 different deployments where I use `code-server`, when I open the integrated terminal in VS Code, it's blank with no blank. Has anyone experienced this? Note I have `?folder=/home/coder` in the `coder_app` querystring

yes, this happens when xterm fails to load

usually when you reload the page fully xterm is cached and there's no issues anymore

yes, it did show up after some browser rage

do you have any approximate date for when you will release a stable version 1 of code-oss?

We currently plan to complete that in calendar Q3 of 2022, i.e., within the next three months.

Hello guys I’m new here and just got a app called server editor however I don’t have a computer to host Vscode or code server?

Sadly since I don’t have a computer I’m trying to figure out how to run code server (self hosted) I just don’t have to money for a laptop or a pc I’m just getting into coding as a hobby and can’t find many great apps to get started they just don’t lead up to my expectations

Was able to get it working with another application called UCoW the same dev that developed GoCoEdit on the AppStore

Yeah makes sense, I tried it with coder but couldn't get it working since you can't refresh the "code-server is offline" page after logging in

It’s kinda finicky but works well you can also install most extensions I used live share id I can try with code server next 👍

Was also able to do some photoshop via using photopea then copy the url an paste the url to UCoW

easier to setup, you probably don't want to code on a phone though
