When writing code, few things are more exciting than finding a legitimate application for recursion. Discuss.

Recursion is definitely fun, in a brain-bendy way!

In before Adam tells you to recurse this in a recursion thread, while cursing. And then, I imagine, recursing.

My question is does every cursing that recurses get more quiet like an echo?

I mean, with Adam? Clearly nothing he does gets quieter. lol

I don't remember windows1... I remember 3 and 3.3 (with it 30 something 1.44MB 3.5" disks.... and before that I remember DOS 4 / 5 / 5.1 and OS/2, too. IO had been into computers since the early 80's.... maybe I was still in "Commodore" land then? Vic20 / C64 / C128 / C128D ann then the Amiga... I think I had an XT fdor about 6 months before the AT came out and let you use RAM above 640k with Desqview and Qemm for multi-tasking.... ahh the good 'old days....

My first one was one of these puppies https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_700 followed later by an Archives PC running CP/M with MBasic, had to hack around with peek and poke to work out how to move the cursor around and clear the screen

Actually had a hybrid experience of what's already been mentioned- a TRS-80 (model I, Level 2) with cassette drive, but then also the heat-sensitive printer. Those rolls were few and far between. Almost had a Kaypro, but it was a little pricy at the time

My grandfather was at IBM, and I inherited his prototype IBM PC as my first machine. (Mind you, I didn't get it until 1994. But it makes me well acquainted with 1980 technology.)

My first computer was a TRS-80 Model 1. It had 16k of memory. I eventually bought the expansion kit which gave it 16k more for a total of 32k.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TI-99/4A Complete with the voice synthesizer so that games could mock you for making bad choices, and tape deck to load and save games and run more complex software. I think I was in third grade. I learned some basic on it and copied some simple programs out of a magazine, but it was mostly for games and for my dad to do some accounting stuff
