@V-Rex If you’re pausing the game for this, I’d play it for now as a single attack resolved on all targets simultaneously, then draw reactions. IMO, it’s like an 80% chance that this ruling is correct; I think I’ve seen them clarify it this way a number of times on BGG and I hadn’t seen the opposite.

For the Grove Maiden. If you take out a location using an ability to attack with your Guardian who would be the target? Would it be you since it was your ability or would it be your Guardian since it did the damage?

Guardian broke it, Grove Maiden just compelled it. So Guardian should take a reaction. At least thats what I am thinking.

Guardian is breaker target, only when broke by Sentinels, the Maiden is the target.

@Shadowborne Games our group is still wondering about this. Re rolls seems to be several times stronger company trait them any other

Hello a question about the huntress She has abilities that allow her to place traps, do these function similar to Fire when considering the source of the damage if it breaks a die? As in if a monster is KB into a trap and it breaks a die the KB'ing char is the focus? And/or if the monster just walks into the trap there is no default target? I saw this response on BGG regarding the effects of Witch fire, made me wonder about the huntress traps? Shadowborne Games @Shadowborne Games Sep 10 Just a little thing about reactions here. If a KB causes a monster to go over fire tiles and break the Die due to this the reaction target will be the one who did the KB and the damage is considered to have been sourced in the KB. Whereas when a monster jsut moves over one in the course of a stage card then there is no focused reaction target.

I think in both cases there is no focused reaction target, so the monster will go for their default targeting. But I haven’t heard the ruling about Knockback into fire before. It had seemed to me, that the monster only considers the immediate cause (fire / trap) and not the indirect cause (the Witch / the Huntress / whomever inflicted Knockback into one). Without an opponent directly causing that damage, it uses default targeting.

I've tried searching but am probably just wording wrong. On the one handed axes where is says when you critical add 2 instead of 1 on the explosion, does this count on all criticals pulled including the new might cards/dice from the explosion or just for 1 of the criticals on the attack.

Group is on both sides of the fence, one argument is that it is only for one critical that is present, whereas it reads as "on the attack" and everything you roll is part of the attack.

Can the Cur use Concealment or Smoke Bomb to prevent being the target of a reaction he causes?

I think the axes are once per attack. From the FAQ: Q. If an item says: “When you crit during an attack that hits" do X. Does this stack if you draw multiple crits on that attack? A. No the effect only applies to one crit on that attack. I think I also saw these axes explicitly clarified on some other thread.

Do Charge through attacks need LoS? So if an enemy doesn’t have LoS to any oathsworn, moves toward closest under (6) of Choosing a Target, and still has no LoS, will it use a charge through attack towards the nearest Oathsworn?
  • c

    Crash

    09/24/2022, 4:59 AM
Nope, because it states that you move and then apply attack to all characters you moved through.

    09/24/2022, 5:42 AM
But, yes it's will move the closest and then attack with charge through. It come from the targeting rule: 6. If there are no valid targets, the enemy will move as far as they can towards the closest Oathsworn (whether they are in LoS or not) who is not excluded from being targeted for any reason, with ties broken using steps 4 and 5 above. In this case, the enemy will perform as many of the other effects on the Stage card as it can.

For charge through is a additional move

if an ability card isn't an attack, but has a range does it still need LoS. Rules put LoS under attacking

No, that one's been clarified. Fire's not an enemy, so the monster falls back to default targeting. IIRC, that's mentioned in the rulebook, but I don't have that on me right now.

For an item that gives a reroll on an attack, does that need to be used before the cards or drawn, or does it work like a reroll token?
