If an enemy is moving 'away from their target' due north and hits the edge of the board, do they mirror/bounce and then go south technically moving closer to their target? I could only find references to NW, NE, SW, SE in my search and those make sense. Just not sure when you're directly hitting the edge what should happen. Feels weird if they return to where they just were.

I seem to remember a specific rule in the book somewhere that answers this though don't recall exactly where. I seem to remember that it takes angle of approach into account for the deflection angle as well....maybe?

Do you mean this part of the book? If I'm reading it right, you heading straight into a mirror means you would just turn around.

Yes but it's just funky when you have a command to "move 5 directly away from target" and because of bounce off edge you end up reflecting directly back and the end result is ending up closer to the target.

Like when 'directly away' is North or South.

At the tally step of chapter 11, if we’re going to do 11.5 next, what do we do about the gear decks? There’s no 11.5 decks. Leave the decks as 11 for 11.5, or switch to 12?

Does this count as an aoe? Meaning it would hurt a friendly if they are in a space adjacent to my charge path?

    It should, yes

Answered my own question on this after playing chapter 11.5. You advance the gear decks as normal during the chapter 11 tally phase.

FAQ: Q: How do difficult increases (where you lower you max HP) interact with abilities that state 'for each HP you have lost gain X'? A: If playing on a higher difficult treat these abilities as saying 'gain X where X is 6 minus your current HP'.

Does this answer refer to Penitent cards although these cards do not explicitely have the 'for each HP you have lost gain X' statement?

It's referring to the normal staring HP meaning 6

I understand that. However, is the FAQ relevant for the cards I posted although the statement 'gain X where X is 6 minus your current HP' is not there?

Sorry, forgot to answer this, you would switch to 12 for anything needed. I don't remember needing anything in 11.5 related to gear, but it would be Chapter 12 in case you do

Thanks for confirming. Finishing 11.5 made it obvious since there was no instruction at 11 to do anything different, and there is no loot tally phase in 11.5.

Question about the Ursus’ "Topple" ability. How do you assign damage? Is it the closest location to the obstacle? Do you divide it evenly among the locations covered by the template? Can you choose how to divide it? For example, we used it on a large, six location boss, but on the board we managed to get all 7 hexes of the template on the boss. But we were unsure of how to assign damage. We ended up breaking one location and taking 1 hp from another.

Yes, it's to the closest to the location. All damage goes to 1 hit dice and there is no overflow onto another die.

Good to know. I had a feeling we did it wrong, which we did by choosing which location broke. At least that’s the only time we’ve used it so far.

I think it should, otherwise the Penitent can’t get full mileage out of those cards. I’d personally guess it’s intended that you calculate these with 6 - your current health.

Thx. Out of interest: are there any cards in the game with the pharese from the FAQ?

Huh, I guess not. (Looking at https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2297432/oathsworn-player-character-summary-updated-061421/page/1 , so there might be out of date wording compared to the printed version.)

@Shadowborne Games @Tonzin If the enemy boss targets the oathworn with the highest life, but can't end up reaching the target with his speed does he change his targets to an oathsworn who is in range that has less life?
  • t

    Tonzin

    01/28/2023, 12:52 AM
That wouldn't be a valid target so yes, it would go after a valid Oathsworn if possible

Can the range extending effect of some staff weapon affects: A, the range of Supernova? B, the explosion range of Firestorm?

Effective AoE range isn't increased, just the casting distance

Does anyone know if knockback follows normal movement rules in the case of knocking back someone into a water tile? Example: I have knockback 3 and try to push a large model into a water tile 2 spaces away. Will I be able to knockback the fullest or not because water tiles cost 2 movement and would need knockback 3+ to make that happen?
