I always just placed it part of the way off the board. I guess I'll find out if I'm wrong.

does the determination rule trigger in Story combats?

Don't think so, think that it's only in the encounter

Can someone tell me what the rule is if you run out of water/fire tiles? I think i saw it somewhere in the rulebook that you remove the furthest one and place that, but I can't find it. ||Also how does this work with the fire that is already placed by a boss?||

Just wanted to check that I had this right, if an enemy moves into the limits of the map they bounce off and keep going So in the picture, if I have a large base enemy in the marked hexes who then moves north west, they'll just bounce back and forth and go nowhere?

No they bounce like a mirror, so if it is heading NW it will bounce off heading SW

I guess then that there's two options of bounce depending on which hex edge it counts as impacting The options being: Like you said SW Or Bounce NE, hit the wall, bounce and leave SE I guess it's the first option like you said if we just consider it having been the top edge rather than overthinking hex edges And does a bounce count as 1 space of movement?

I agree that it will leave SW due to the bounce(s). Not counting bounce as a step.

Did you ever find the answer? I would be inclined to follow the book

If an enemy's movement is "Unlimited", you still have to move them through the path, right? Or do they just lift up and get put wherever? Trying to determine if I can use fire tiles to catch them on their way to their targets.

That’s how I’d play it. Unless it specifically says to pick it up and put it somewhere

I actually just came across cards that day to pick them up and place them elsewhere, so I see there is a difference in "unlimited" movement, and UNLIMITED movement. 😂

Is it bouncing the green or purple path? I would assume the purple one, cause Oathsworn does not shrink the large enemies to one hex while moving and the north most Hex already touches the edge.

Not sure how to understand the purple line. I would say it is bouncing directly SW. The middle center will not move NW.

The purple should be straight SW, it was just for the simulation of the bounce.

And it's the Hex you choose probably for the movement

If the lines represent the center of the monster then I agree with purple because one step NW will make it go as far as it can before hitting the board edge then the next step is the bounce to SW.
  • s

    10/07/2022, 9:51 AM
You mean you will move the center field along the purple line? That is not correct.
  • r

    Razuhl

    10/07/2022, 10:17 AM
Center as purple is the same movement as the marked green line.
  • k

    krusher

    10/07/2022, 10:19 AM
So the lines intend to show the movement of the NW hex? If so then I think it would follow green. All in all, the boss can move one hex NW and then it's next NW movement would hit the board edge so at that point you bounce and continue with the second hex of movement SW.

    10/07/2022, 10:19 AM
The angle of the purple was just to see the NW movement of the NWern Hex and then bounce to SW

    10/07/2022, 10:22 AM
I think it's the purple, cause the boss can't move a Hex, the northern Most Hex is where the coin lays. This Hex is already at the edge. As long there is no rule of shrinking while moving, all occupied hexes must be available for movment.

If the NW hex moves NW then the N hex would go in the hex NE of the ursis, that puts the boss fully on the board.

IMO, It should move along these yellow lines:

Ok, I see my error, I thought the spot NE of the ursis was an actual hex. I now see it lacks the black lines making it a hex. Sorry for the confusion.
