I dont use varnish since it always messes with quality of my paintjob

Frosty varnish? Apply olive oil to the area using a cue tip or cotton wool

Generally metallics do get dulled a little tho.

I got rid of the frosting with the second coat of proper shaking but the metallic shin is gone

I used Citadel Pink Horror for the base, a LITTLE Carroberg Crimson shade to tint the shadows, and Emporer's Children for the highlights and the round parts. That's just because it's what I had. If I was buying I'd get a good Magenta (Kimera, Vallejo, or Pro Acryl) and mix my own highlights and shades. Fewer and more versatile paints purchased that way. What makes it pop in person is that I mixed Vallejo Verdigis into the Emporer's Children to make my highlights.

So multiple tricks on trying to remove varnish frost later... At the end I used Acetone nail polish remover as gently as possible to remove the vanish.
