15-20 is wild. Am jealous. Priest took me like an hour.

When I was going for real quality, I'd easily spend an hour per mini making sure I didn't over paint, touch ups, picking out all the details, etc. Frequently more. I enjoyed the process of painting at the time, but eventually I burned out and now I just want something that doesn't suck when they're on the table. Surprisingly, it's reinvigorated my enjoyment of painting again. The process doesn't feel like as much of a burnout when I make progress more quickly.

I've always felt it was a chore so never tried to go past TT standard

One thing Citadel is absolute strange is white, they never had good white. I do not know why.

Citadel has nice paints, but terrible containers. I usually get vallejo. Now I'm getting army painter with the speed paints. I do use Citadel's drybrush paints though, they're more of a thick sludge rather than paints and work well for drybrushing.

I have contrast and speed paints and I like the contrast just a tiny bit more than the speed paints

Something about the way speed paints go on is weird to me.

I transferred all my contrast to dropper bottles so the bottle issue is resolved

They are broken token paint holders, and they work pretty well. But I have some nail polish racks too that also work really well for much cheaper!

I'll be having a look into those also, currently my paints all sit in rows in a box and I've been literally just thinking about better organisation for them last night 😁

I have my paints in one drawer, in two plastic paper trays, so I can lift them from drawer to the table easily.

I tried to keep them organized by color, but in practice that doesnt work, as I often do not have the time to organize when putting them away

So, I am thinking maybe I should have one tray with current project paints, and others those that I do not need atm.... dunno. Probably cant be so exclusively as I have rather a lot of paints.

My current system has an old games workshop box that holds the paints (roughly organised by colour as of the other night when I tried to take an inventory) and then I have an Amazon box I've pulled the top and one side off that I use as my in progress tray that tends to just accommodate paint pots as I move through colours. Cleared the painting tray out last night to start on these models. I guess my system tends towards a more unorganised version of what you're talking about there 😁🤷‍♂️

For people who are painting the characters with the armory pack. How are you going about priming and painting? Are you priming the original models with their weapons/arms attached or are you covering their holes and priming everything separately?

didn't have issues getting the stuff back in after priming it all. Only complaint is I'm liking the armory less & less

I love the positivity on this server. I'm in some others where that isn't quite the case. I painted a miniature with blue blood, and you would have thought I insulted the lineage of several members of the server...
