Question, I am brand new to this so bare with me - I am trying to create a note using ctrl+shift+l but it doesn't create a note. It creates a schema... any idea why?

you should do C-l to create a note

Curious as to how you would best keep a set of vaults up to date in the cloud between 2 machines (work and home). Is it possible to choose google drive as Dendron's local directory?

I'm using a private repository in GitHub.

@User Any chance there is a walkthrough on how to achieve that? I am assuming you just push it/clone it to keep it all in sync?

I'm not an expert either, but here's a general outline. 1. Create a private repository in your GitHub a/c 2. Setup either GitHub desktop or Git (https://git-scm.com/) to sync local folder to the private repository. Optionally, I also have Git Automator extension on VScode 3. I also have these included in .gitignore so I can have custom vaults load up on my different computers.

@User Thank you I will try to utilize this pattern. I think a "How to," on this could be helpful for newcomers as it extends the functionality of the app to folks that aren't developers who want to use dendron on multiple machines. I do analytics so I know what git is and have used it to clone repos but I don't use it in my day to day. @User Just a thought.

How does one link a file with spaces in its name. [link](/assets/Name has spaces.pdf)? Or are you forced to remove spaces from file names for the link to work?

Answered my own question. Replace the space with '%20' 😝 [link](/assets/Name%20has%20spaces.pdf)

I generally try to slugify the filenames

but markdown can handle encodings like that so that will work. I cannot be bothered with encoding so I just kebab case it and remove special characters 😄

Hmm - how do I use the backlink panel on tags that don't have a page created yet?

Because it feels a bit counter intuitive to use pages for this

To be honest I'm not the person to ask because I haven't been using tags a lot. (hierarchcial or regular wiki-link tags alike) I'm sure someone will help you out. Sorry 😅

It's counter intuitive but the tag pages are really useful. I'd just create stub pages for them.

Then you can see where a tag is used by navigating to the tag page and viewing backlinks.
