I may have misspoke about dendron svg imagery, when I was searching the served html for

svg

there where a lot of svg tags and links, (should have used

.svg

). I'm guessing you used to inline svg commands to do things like "elevate & shadow" text boxes, (working btw in site preview), maybe even to present tables?, (also working). Then too, those floating buttons in MPE aren't reproduced, that functionality in a different way, so ignore that comment.

Hi, just came across this video about using emacs Org-mode for integration of research workflows. I'm still very new to Dendron so I might be missing some obvious elements, but have you ever considered integration of the Dendron methods with something more barebones like org-mode? Would love to hear your perspective on that.

Awesome, thanks! Hadn't seen that page yet. I think the workflows supported by Dendron could be a really interesting addition to the functionalities of org mode, but I'll have to learn more about both.

works fine now tha KS for looking into it. Publishing still didn't work but I had no time today to tinker with it.

The thing that is not working for me is just rendering a svg image of the Markdown symbol, (see previously post MPE image). Since all current browsers support this, I think the only thing that could be going on is some problem with img tag src property, is must be wrong or mal-formed.

as to not supporting svg natively yet, there is a lot svg tags in what 11ty is doing already in the served pages. Haven't looked at it in detail, but from a cursory glance, some of it seems to be related to setting up viewports for the table of contents, and the note corresponding to the TOC's current selection

@User clipboard issue should be fixed with latest release. let me know if thats the case

Look, I hate to be so harsh, but at this stage, Dendron only seems to be useable on Mac and Linux. It seems to be in a "one step forward, three back" phase. Currently, the extension won't even load for me. All its doing for me is causing me to polish up some old monolithic blocks of markdown. I'm sure it can be brought around, but with no development taking place on PC, that is going to be a while. Afraid I'm out for a while.

apologies about the issues on pc. we actually have quite a significant number of users on pc and we do test for compatibility there though there are definitely improvements to be made. i'm happy to sit down and do a call to see if we can diagnose what you're seeing but also understand if you want to take a break for a bit

I wouldn't agree that Dendron isn't useable on PC. It's my daily driver at work to keep my notes and stress levels under control. Yes I couldn't get publishing to work for my multi vault setup

Im sharing some thoughts and possible solutions on this. I'm validating your experience on Windows as well, and taken some L's because of it. Our time, commitments to others, and workflows are important and I feel frustrated when I take L's because of external factors, like software. However, I think there is a way to balance these immediate needs and frustrations with the future benefits our time and contribution to Dendron will bring. I started a relationship with Dendron after investment and experience through multiple notekeeping systems. I came with some domain knowledge of memory and cognition, and found the design values of Dendron to match with these principles. The details Kevin puts into features showed me he's thought deeply about and understand these principles. I also believe Kevin has thought about Dendron's resilience during his design process. The markdown, attention to compatibility with mobile Markdown apps, and keeping user syntaxes compatible with market rival Obsidian are all strengths of Dendron, by design. Due to these factors, I felt comfortable committing my time and notes to Dendron, and to make Dendron part of my workflow and inevitably, part of my emotional life. And despite the errors that has been happening and the frustrations Ive been experiencing, I see it as a small bump in the long road. When Dendron isnt working, I pull up Obsidian to access my connections, or Listary-lookup Typora to look up individual notes, continue with my workflow from there, and then after my workday is done and I have some free time, give feedback and bug error to this community to complete the loop. Dendron has never disconnected me from my second brain that I built with Dendron. Dendron allows these alternate workflows by design when Dendron itself breaks, I credit that to the strength of Kevin and the Dendron team's vision, and hope people take this into consideration in your decisions.

I got use cases for Dendron, but I'm currently just playing around with it, mostly with single markdown documents I've either authored or copied from someplace. So I don't have a collection of self generated notes. I've had to edit those documents to "play right" with MPE, some of them choke MPE and don't display anything leaving me to use MP until I've done enough editing and reformatting. then planning to divide them into a set of notes ala the ameba pattern. I've found that MPE isn't completely equivalent to a published site, so I been interested in publishing just to see those differences for myself. With the change to 11ty, I was only able to use Site preview in the 0.29 version. Under 0.30 the Dendron extension fails to load so I can't even work on things currently.

I sense your frustration. My use case/approach is a bit different so I may just be lucky. However 0.30 works fine for me both with VSCode and VSCodium and I even managed to publish now my multi vault setup with two remote vaults

So I'm quite happy with Dendron on Win10
