    Could sort in lookup be changed so that latest journal entries come up first ?

    yep. it can! can you create a feature request here so we can track and work on it? https://github.com/dendronhq/dendron/issues/new?assignees=&labels=&template=feature_request.md&title=

    in the meantime, something I do is keep a pinned tab with the latest journal note. i will refer back to it when i need to access any journals for a given day https://www.loom.com/share/4463b38edff9424baf690d67a1b12ba3

    small nitpick: i really love the short recordings you do for showcasing new features but sometimes it is hard to see what is going on. Could you zoom in a little for those recordings?

    @User absolutely! i think the issue is that i do the recordings in my humango giant monitor. will do them from my mac going forward which should make things better!

    @User great work on json export! a couple of ideas: - IIUC, the export doesn't export links to other notes? If this would be in place, we could use json to create graph visualizations - Continuing on the same idea, does the json export included stats, like char / word count? This could also be used for visualization purposes. The same for tags - How about creating pods-folder next to vault folder? This could be the default location for various exports - With LSP, json export could be made live. If visualization extensions would then use this as an input, it would be great way to rapidly grow the dendron visualization ecosystem

    @User great feedback! thoughts below > - iiuc, the export doesn't export links to other notes? if this would be in place, we could use json to create graph visualizations links are a great idea, especially since we do go through the trouble of indexing them anyways in the engine. will add that as an option > - continuing on the same idea, does the json export included stats, like char / word count? this could also be used for visualization purposes. the same for tags tags i agree with as well. as far as char/word count, i agree it'll be good for vizualization (and who knows what else people will come up with) because we're not (currently) tracking this is the engine, we would have to calculate it for export. this make me think that there should be a general middleware to pods that can calculate these derived metrics pre-export and be applied to all pods > - how about creating pods-folder next to vault folder? this could be the default location for various exports yep, that is exactly what i'm doing 🙂 the default path for pods is
    {workspace}/pods
    . each pod gets its own directory inside
    pods
    > - with lsp, json export could be made live. if visualization extensions would then use this as an input, it would be great way to rapidly grow the dendron visualization ecosystem totally agree. that will be a very beautiful day when we get lsp out 🙂

    Kevin Not feedback on the tool as I’m still learning it, but instead on discoverability: your YouTube videos are not the easiest to find. Often when trying to understand a methodology or concept in Dendron the videos on the site are a bit quick and tiny so I’ll go through the YouTube videos. If I search “Dendron” the results are, understandably, not about your app. However searching “Dendron Note Taking”, and “Dendron App” also do not show your channel. I think your videos need better tagging improve discoverability.

    I just get started using dendron. Just a quick feedback. The first action I was trying to do was to create a new note but I didn't find the command to do it. After stuggling a bit, I figured out I can create new notes via lookup.

    The fact that we can create new notes via lookup is not obvious to me

    similarly, I didn't find the command to create a new schema, and then I found we can add new schema during lookup. Again, that was not obvious to me

    > these are the pains for learners..and we always forget about these pains once we learnt how to do something😆 @User Agreed. There are tons of note-taking apps and so far I am most satisfied with Roam, Remnote and Dendron, each has some shining points.

    > the feedback is just to record what confused me when I get started @User that's totally fair. in general i think we can do a better job helping folks get started. working on a new getting started guide and will incorporate this feedback into the guide 🙂

    Was overriding cmd+shift+(left|right) with the go to hierarchy commands intentional? On macOS those keybindings are used for selecting text to home/end and are super useful for multi-line editing. I'm removing them in my user keymap as follows for now:
    Copy code
    // Override Dendron's hierarchy keymaps
      {
        "key": "meta+shift+left",
        "command": "-dendron.goPrevHierarchy",
      },
      {
        "key": "meta+shift+right",
        "command": "-dendron.goNextHierarchy",
      }

    A useful feature for sure, but it seems odd to override the editor's default behaviour. Maybe it's possible to scope these to just the preview view rather than in the editor?

    @User thanks for the feedback. yeah, it's tough to find keyboard shortcuts that don't conflict with anything else. and we can't scope it to the editor because many people spend most of their time in the editor instead of the preview. when i was looking, every combination of modifier and arrow key is taken for some kind of functionality (if you find a otherwise, let me know). i will add a line in the FAQ about overriding keybindings and conflicting keybindings.
