One good thing that can come from it is commits becoming smaller. No more giant commits

or at least easier to understand where mistakes were made in the first place

Is it possible to have a workspace for Dendron and another for Org-mode?

in theory you should be able to use org-mode side by side with dendron. if not, we can work on making sure that it is

I'd like to see how is Org-mode. I'm fine with Dendron although I'm a noob hoping to undestand schemas, templates and writing snippets

we're working on making it easier to use. new tutorial here: https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/678c77d9-ef2c-4537-97b5-64556d6337f1.html @User also has a great video series going on https://t.co/qIRvQqtttZ

Thank you. I'm enjoying Dendron very much. Obsidian for instance is easier to understand, but I feel better with Dendron's way.

You can configure vscode workspaces to be nearly wholly independent of each other.

Thanks. I started reading about it. They can also be multi-root. What could be done with multi-vault Dendron in a multi-root workspace running side by side with Org-mode? ðŸĪŠ

Seconded. I wonder if the lack of hierarchies in other systems will go the way of dynamic type systems and untested/unit-test-less codebases.

i think in the long term. current systems can work and do work but once you get past a certain point of scale (eg. 1000 notes), it becomes unmanageable without some sort of structure (until we get sentient AI that can just answer everything or overthrow society as we know it)

there's an interesting dynamic because structure breaks down as well when you have too much information (eg. the internet - this is why yahoo lost to google - they couldn't keep up with search). where humans are with information today is somewhere in between

I very much appreciate seeing developers who think for the long term. Especially for something like a pkm system, where the hope is it lives as long as you do -- or longer. 🌅

in the beginning, yahoo tried to organize the web by breaking it down into categories. but they couldn't keep up and google search came along and was far better at indexing and serving fresh content and answering long tail search queries. its impractical to create a standard taxonomy for the world wide web - there's too much information

it's insane to me that to even get a sense of convenience and efficiency in note taking I had to setup my terminal to do it

EMACS org mode is still hundreds of times more efficient for taking notes than Microsoft Word / Notepad/ Libre will ever be and that's incredibly sad.
