Clean! It's a very clean and seamless experience. Tonight I want to get a better understanding of the PARA method of organization. To the left, I have Tiago Forte's original PARA website, which I converted to Markdown in two clicks with a Chrome extension and brought into Dendron, that I'm marking up. To the right, I have the graph view for navigation and below that, my own note and questions about PARA that I
    linked
from the original source. The graph view shows the link, and shows my overall progress in learning about and implementing PARA.

Now, I'm going to ask some people on Discord about how they use PARA, so I'm splitting the window with Discord. I still have enough room to navgivate and type my notes comfortably. and Ill be typing notes as I read and think about peoples replies. The Dendron graph gives me quick, one click access to any note that I may want to add to, and
    lookup
    also works admirably.

In summary, I have Dendron as a half or 1/3 screen pretty much all the time I'm on the computer, splitting panels to take notes on everything I'm learning or asking myself, and using the graph view to navigate and give context to my thought process. When I watch videos, I use the Sizer app to make it a tiny window with a single keychord, with two panels- one notes panel the grpah view for navigation and context.

Here's Tiny Dendron in action, taking notes while my attention is on the video. The graph view can zoom in and out and serves its navigation duties admirably, even when tiny

@User Do you prefer to put everything in a same vault or seperate them? I put everything in the same vault and it gets quite messy, planning to seperate them after the multi vault feature is availabel

@User I had that issue with Obsidian. It's not an issue anymore because Dendron's organization brings in an X-axis to the formerly single direction binary tree organization, and I've been using that to keep my nav sidebar clean. I usually use the graph view or the Lookup to open my notes though, and keep the sidebar tree toggled out of view. I'm using the sidebar mostly for the Tag Tree and Todo Tree extensions.

I do keep separate vaults, but to separate contexts instead of for organization. For example, I dont want to see anything that reminds me of work when im planning my next rave. I keep one vault opened in VSCode and another in VSCodium, so I can switch between them with a single keypress instead of typing an address in the Dendron:Switch Vault function. This can be pretty useful since my girlfriend sometimes chats about weekend plans while I'm studying, and I just press a button and write down the plans in the other vault. Perfect capture, no friction.

At the amount of notes I'm taking, my nested folder structure in Obsidian was a mess. If my titles are too long, I had to pull out the sidebar to see the whole title. Dendron solves that problem with that cool
    names.with.dots.get.tucked.into.its.own.folders
    thing

@User @User the idea behind the vault is you can put any number of hierarchies in a domain that you want. for context, my bigger vaults have close to 10k notes in them. the reason you want to split out vaults is for context. for example, you might have a vault that is private stuff that you want to keep locally and another vault with stuff you don't mind putting on dropbox. you could have two vaults (disclaimer: not currently supported until we have multi-vault support which is coming in a few weeks) that look like the following
    Copy code
    ~/Dendron/private-vault

    ~/Dropbox/Dendron/public-vault
when we launch multi-vault, you'll still be able to access all your notes as if they were in one big vault even if you add multiple ones. say you have the following files
    Copy code
    private-vault/
        - ...
        - me.public.md
    public-vault/
        - ...
        - me.secret.md
when you use lookup, and type
    me.
, you'll see the following results
    Copy code
    - me.public (public-vault)
    - me.secret (private-vault)
you can also put a deny-list in your
    dendron.yml
to make sure you don't accidentally publish notes you don't want to. the following configuration will publish your
    me
hierarchy from your public vault but not your private one
    Copy code
    yml
    siteHierarchies:
    - me

    localOnly:
    - private-vault

Crazy idea: timers/alerts associated with certain tasks so i'm reminded to do things at certain times. There's def VSCode plugins for alarms, but one that's tied to specific
    - [ ] buy milk (alert@10:00am)
would be cool. Any 👍's? I could make a formal feature request if other people would think that's interesting. EDIT: https://github.com/dendronhq/dendron/issues/282

I was thinking about something like time/habit tracking too. For contract work I like to deliver an itemised report to the client of how long I spent on each task. They usually enjoy this because they can see the breakdown of where blockages where or whatever and we can talk about why that happened which is a powerful knowledge sharing thing.

Speaking about hierarchies (continuing this from #739186036495876126 so the server won't get messy), I've been noticing Evernote a lot these days because of their fall in terms of users (and the update speed... Literary everything went bad) Any thoughts on the future of Evernote?
