sometimes when dendron upgrades, the configuration format changes slightly. we auto upgrade the configuration in this case (dendron.yml)

Is the bug report process documented somewhere in the wiki? I couldn't find it, had to search through the Discord chat for this url: https://github.com/dendronhq/dendron/issues/new?assignees=&labels=&template=bug_report.md&title=

Cool. Also, I know there is a table of contents in the published wiki view, any plans to have such a thing in the preview panel?

Does anyone else have this issue where you Cmd+L and then immediately start typing the name of the note but there's a delay for the note lookup to show up so instead you type that file name into currently open file, forget about it, and then later Dendron autosaves it when you sync 😬

Yes 😅 I'm like, "Crap, I started typing faster than the lookup bar came up" and if I don't remember to delete what I accidentally added, a Workspace Sync may result in adding it into notes

Is there a recommended spell check extension for Dendron?

I use this one, but that's not an official recommendation 😄 https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=streetsidesoftware.code-spell-checker

We have a few extensions listed in the
    awesome-dendron
list that have come up in the community: https://github.com/dendronhq/awesome-dendron/#spellcheck-linters-and-style-guides 🙂

Just tried learning emacs over the weekend out of curiosity of how coding purists rave about it. I gave up in 2 days and I might need therapy.

I think it takes a little longer to learn ;). I gave it ~6months, but eventually gave up. My emacs takeaway: 1. Using Emacs Org-Mode, I trusted the content I created a. Contrast that feeling with using VS Code on Windows 10, I don't put anything of "value"* in my text files. b. I don't trust that my content isn't being telemetried-away. Especially because I use GitHub CoPilot * "value" = big ideas, my last will and testament, my bitcoin wallet keys, etc. 2. I wish I could "live in my text editor" like I could with Emacs a. Reading email, web browsing, writing code within my docs AND executing it are productivity hacks I miss

makes sense, for me the biggest trade-off was that i just cannot achieve the speed and efficiency of getting things done in vscode over emacs. for your point 1, we need to understand that ultimately vscode and emacs is just a means to an end. They are just different ways to view, access and be functional with your files. Keeping that in mind I cannot visualize a workflow with emacs. It feels very 1-dimensional. What I like about dendron is that they are editor agnostic and focuses on functions. For now vscode gets the job done. Also, if I am not wrong they have an editor on their roadmap way down the line.

If you care about your privacy and want to remove Microsoft telemetry, then I believe you should chexk out VSCodium, a libre build of VSCode without all tracking stuff https://vscodium.com/

Also, any vs code extension can be disabled/enabled for some workspaces only, so if you use dendron as separate vault (not with your code projects), you can disable github copilot for dendron workspace, I guess

Yo. Anyone wanna collab on making a webpage, where we gather all the music from all the charts ever for easier navigation and lookup, rather than having to go to each streaming service separately? The reason for making this is to find music from charts more easily gathered in one place. So like it's relevant to knowledge management, cause we'll have to also figure out some sort of way to tag things, so that it's easier to search them up, rather than just clicking on dropdowns. Issues: 1. I have no webdev experience 2. Idk what to make this in. As in like framework. Basic features required: 1. Somehow fetching the info from the streaming services on what the charts are. 2. Songs get links associated with them so you can easily click on it and listen. 3. A way to fetch credits for songs, such as Label, Publisher, Producer, Songwriter, etc. Given that charts are not infinite, this shouldn't be too much of a "number of requests" problem. So I don't think this would cost anything in terms of doing that. Not sure if it would cost anything anyway since I don't do webdev.

A way to start this project (using Dendron as a knowledge base) and garner support is: 0. Choose a language (Raw HTML/CSS/JS, Python, etc.) or framework (VueJS, Svelte, etc.) 1. Test and document nuances with all the Chart Site API's (<---Dendron) 2. Embed a .drawio diagram explaining what you think the architecture would look like (<---Dendron) 3. Create a GitHub repository with a README.md file with the diagram embedded and a short write up (user profile, business case, etc.) 4. Create a Discord server These first steps create a place where developers could actually help and you've established a common sheet of music for collaboration

Just read this and I really like the concept; I can't quite place my finger on it but I think it's that it's giving you a way to reinforce your own note taking habits rather than be either too prescriptive or too vague. Got me thinking about how I could do something similar! https://maggieappleton.com/programmatic-notes

And also what's the default flow - what do I do after starting VS Code? Do I browse to the project i initialized and open it and that's it? Or is it supposed to be used differently?
