Neither is Citrix ADC, AFAIK
d
Yup, that's where I met the problem. I thought ADM would work, but nope.

I am curious to know why Citrix ADC is not supported with AMD CPUs, the only thing I have found is that one or more particular versions of BSD has issues with AMD CPUs, other than that I have not been able to locate any info by Citrix about why AMD CPUs are not supported
d
My first thought was nested virtualization, which seems to be unavailable on AMDs. But I don't think thats relevant for ADC/ADM. I had a discussion with our Partner Managment and they told us the focus was on Intel since day one and AMD is not on the roadmap atm. That's funny since ADC 12.1 datasheets mention Intel VT-D/X and AMD-V processors as supported. I'm just shaking my head...😩

It doesn't exactly align with Azure either, as we have been able to get AMD based compute resources there for a while
j
Citrix should be more transparent on the reason, it's unfair for AMD.
k
I agree

Get a hold on your local SE, let Citrix know that AMD is becoming more used in the datacenters.

I did that. "Our product management is aware of these queries"
m
Yes they are, but the more they get, the higher the chance they will use dev money on it.

This especially is prioritized according to customer requests - don't just send a note but make sure you request to get attached to the actual RFE. That said, there is definitely progress being made already.
