I have not manged to get that to work. Actually I think there is a bug in the product, because no matter what type og registry value and no matter which registry key I point to, it always fails. I think @Cory Zaner have experienced the same.

My experience is positive when dealing with the app masking. I am struggling with the profile and ofdc part where the vms have strange freezing and ost errrors
k
But didn't you have issue with the "Specify Value Rule"?
c
No I don’t think so 🧐
k
Hmm...my memory doesn't always serve me well

Remember Specify Registry Value rule only works with a REG_SZ
b
Do you have documentation on that? I cannot find anything that states that. I've tried with both REG_SZ as well as DWORD and seeing same behavior for both.
n
There used to be on the old knowledge base, but that’s gone now, therefore you’ll just have to take my word for it. The training courses I’ve run, that’s one of the labs we do. Fool app into thinking IE9 is installed, by using the rule. Remember the value has to be there in the first place, it can’t be used to create a new value. The other option is to use a redirect rule, to a registry value that you stage.
b
OK thanks. That actually makes sense that it is to specify a value for an existing registry. Just couldn't find any documentation whatsoever
n
There is very basic documentation now the knowledge is gone!!
