If you configure FSLogix to only "accept" VHDX files, it should use an existing VHDX container

Sorry I don't follow? If I change it to vhdx from what it is now VHD. When a user logs on, will it creat a new vhdx? Or use the old vhd?
Maybe the part to only accept is throwing me off.

You can configure FSLogix to create/use VHDX containers and not VHD. If you haven't configured anything, the default value is VHD. So if you want FSLogix to create/use VHDX you will have to configure the "Virtual Disk Type" policy to VHDX

Thanks Kasper, I will need to test. Once I tell it to create/ use vhdx, sounds like the vhd files with user data wont be used then. So sounds like it need to use frx to migrate then to vhdx, then update the volume type to vhdx. I'll have to test this hard.

Testing has never hurt anyone 🙂

vhd is for ultra compatibility, but if your vm's are w10/16/19 i see ho reason to go with vhd

Understand, like I mentioned. I need to understand what will happen to vhd once the setting is changed.
