Wasn‘t there an issue with fslogix and user based policies not applying? IIRC @James Rankin posted something about this issue?
j
There was this - https://james-rankin.com/articles/user-group-policies-not-applying-when-using-fslogix-profile-containers/ - Citrix policies use an ADMX file but they would have to be deployed by GPO I think rather than through Studio - although I am not clear on how the engine underneath operates so it might leverage the same functions
n
Did this start immediately following the 1912 LTSR upgrade? If so, reboot your affected VDAs twice and then see if policies then apply. I had the exact same issue on both of our sites after upgrading from 7.15 to 1912.
a
well no this has been an issue going back to 7.15 for us. We dont use fslogix but do use app layering (user layer) which more or less uses the same technology methods. I will dig into James post there but it looks like it may be a long read but to cut to the end, is there a relatively uncomplicated way to make Studio user/computer policies work in a fslogix/app layering setup or better luck w/ GP for those?

Outside of the 1912 upgrade, I've never had any issues with Studio policies not applying, and I'm an App Layering guy.
I was going to suggest posting in the App Layering forum on Citrix's site, but @Rob Zylowski is here, too...
r
Andrew do you have a list of which policies are affected or is it that sometimes all are applied and sometimes none?
a
It's usually an all or nothing thing for at least the user based policies.... I'm going to do more testing to see if the machine policies behave differently. Only difference i think with your and my app layering setup is you don't use still user later I think right @Nick Panaccio?
n
Yep, we don’t use User/Elastic layers.
