I'm running App Layering 2003, and our infrastructure is at 1912 LTSR - very stable. We haven't had an issue with an App Layering build in a while, and even then, it was a minor one. Our ELM appliance is a guest in XenServer, so all of the layers are stored in an SR there. We use an external share for the json files and stuff, but that's minimal.
