We have been in the 80's but for our persistent desktops we ended up having to disable the CodeIntegrity feature (same w/ Chromium Edge) or we'd get the Aw Snap
n
When were you getting the Aw Snap thing?
a
from what I was hearing they'd get it for ANY site they'd browse to
so pretty immediate
our app layering/non persistent/user layer environment i have not seen the issue oddly enough
n
The only time I saw that mentioned was with Symantec AV installed in the VDA.
a
interesting. we use Cylance here but same on Persistent and Non Persistent so not sure why we saw it on one setup but not the other
n
I swear I recall seeing that x64 versions of Chrome didn't experience the issue.
j
bye bye chrome, hello edge 🙂 no more chrome for my projects 🙂
n
Edge Chromium simply came around too late in the game for us. I don't see us switching from Chrome at this point. Personally, Edge's UI doesn't appeal to me.
Chrome 83 works as expected, so that's good.
Speaking of browsers, James. Weren't you always a big supporter of Brave?
Saw last week or so that they were autocompleting affiliate URLs to benefit themselves, haha.
j
Intrigued (genuinely) what you don’t like compared to chrome? I’ve swapped it out with customers with zero impact. I love brave - but brave is also chromium based and I can’t use it in enterprise for a myriad of reasons - edge however gets rid of a lot of the shite that google puts into business and offers enterprise integration which for Microsoft environments is pretty handy - what irks you??
n
I just don't like the look and design of Edge Chromium. Purely superficial.
e
Latest and greatest of Google and Edge in NP mode, no issues (using Sandbox)
n
NP mode?
a
i've made the switch personally fully to Edge for myself. maybe just a perception but for me it feels as fast as Chrome used to be. The IE Mode functionality is pretty nice too for our legacy sites we can't seem to shake yet
n
If I'm told that we're switching to Edge, I'll roll with it. At this point, anything is better than IE.

in our setup we already had been using the Enterprise Site list so IE Mode was super easy to implement. From what i can tell it still utilizes the IE 11 client under the hood though so wondering if they ever will fully remove IE11 or just completely hide it at some point
n
Yeah, we've been using IEEM since it was released.
n
@Andrew Gresbach new IE (emulation) engine as I understand it, but no source for that, sorry!
e
NP = Non Persistent
n
@Eric are you referring to your Citrix VDAs being non-persistent (we do this) or some secret awesome Chrome/Edge mode?
