Does that file actually exist and can be accessed?
t
yes it can be sir, after about 10 minutes I can get to it but not initially when we logon to the new machines
I've created a GPresult report when I can't access the syvol folders and after when it's working from the same machine/s
j
Sounds like a problem picking up the policies
t
yes so should I go down the route of running a diagnostic on the DC's?
j
Check replication between them first, yeah
o
It can be DNS
t
One of the gpo's which fails during first time logon is actually contains the DNSSearchSuffixes.vbs which contains a domain entry which I cannot ping from the built machines but can from my wifi laptop and incidentally unrelated to my fault , infra have issues with some critical healthcare application which has lost connectivity, firewall related.
hmm how big is your Policies folder in \\net.mydomain.uk\SysVol\net.mydomain.uk\Policies? ours is 531mb and looks like we don't have DFS here when you right click properties and go to DFS tab there's only 1 network drive under referral - we just built say 8 and the first machine the deployment guy logged onto bitlocker came up immediately and the rest we've had to do gpupdate /force / run the UI in bitlocker folder, start services, reboot etc..
