Brian has always been somewhat of an agent provocateur
r
That's pretty eye opening. The hard numbers make sense. Scary
n
Reading through this is even worse: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1gTMqgMW
n
brian's not wrong on most of what he says. acquisitions is how vmware has been growing over the past many years.
a
Thanks for providing this. Lots of insight.
b
I wonder what happened for VMWare to not pay out the severance to Brian
n
It sounds like it was his choice to leave as gabe and jack are still there.
r
Because they are a bunch of greedy corporate fucks? That wouldn't "maximize shareholder value"
n
That's one of the few benefits about working in the non-profit sector. Not everything is a ‘business decision'.
r
i work for a decently large corporation, and we are the opposite of greedy corporate fucks....
Stuff like this really grinds my gears
n
To add fuel to the fire, Broadcom said on their call they expect to move vsphere from perpetual to subscription licensing. get ready to pay $12K every year for 4 hosts with standard licensing. F me!!!!!!!
r
well, it was always like that for VSPP, but yeah, not surprising. Citrix moved to that model as well, right?
n
If it's not done yet, it will be soon, yeah. Everyone’s moving their licensing to a subscription model for everything.
n
and they keep telling us it's better, greedy assholes!!!
