Delivery Controllers don't have any interaction with FAS outside of the trusting StoreFront servers configured with FAS integration to the best of my knowledge?
c
yeah i am pretty sure you can in place Citrix FAS after upgrading the storefront servers with controllers/site on older versions because as you mention there is no interaction between FAS>DDC's. Its just been that long since i last did it i forgot. I need to do a upgrade of my lab so will test it
j
To be honest, I didn't even think storefront had any FAS version dependency - never really thought about it or considered it (but I'm also not upgrading environments regularly either so open to learning here)
r
No dependency but FAS is not an LTSR product so you should always periodically upgrade out the latest CR version.

just upgraded my FAS server in my lab to 2203 with my controllers and storefront servers servers on 1912 cu2 so yup no dependency as i thought 🙂 maybe my memory is better than i thought it was
o
yea, can upgrade FAS outside of doing the SF piece for sure
c
with multiple FAS servers when upgrading in past i stick the one i am upgrading into maintenance mode in FAS console and then upgrade and reboot and then take out of MM and rinse repeat that process on other FAS servers everyone else follow that process or do it another way ?

the hotfix is an important one, regarding Gateway Callback and / or XML Communication fails after upgrade to Storefront 2203 (citrix.com) and Hotfix - Receiver StoreFront 3.23.1- For Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2203 - English
c
yeah was already planning on using 2203.1 (SF version which fixes the callback issues)
