Would you guys use anything less than 4 vcpu / 16GB mem for w365 machines? I feel like I tested 2 cpu and just felt sluggish doing anything.
n
Absolutely not. Even 4/16 struggles at times in our environment.
j
How many users, Nick? Typical office/outlook/web browser stuff or.. ?
n
Talking single session here, but yeah typical office users. But we also run a lot of agents in our image (Tanium, Aternity, ControlUp, and a few others)
j
looking to replace our on prem RDS (7 hosts) set up with maybe W365 (or AVD).. but .. ugh.. the pricing
and curious on your reasoning of going with w365 vs AVD?
j
Multi user? 8 x 32 or 16 x 64. Single user you need to turn a bunch of stuff off to get it lower.
j
@Jeff Riechers sorry w365 would not be mult-user.. AVD would for sure, at least thats what I'd assume 🙂
j
Haven't played with w365, didn't know if they had multi user yet. Yeah, 4x16 with lots of tuning.
j
If they do its news to me, but I'm not sure 🙂
are you rockin avd as well?
r
Remember that 4 vcpus generally means 2 cores and 2 threads... Meaning slow af..
j
Right.. but jeez.. 8 is pricey
