Does anyone if there was a change in recent WEM versions to force gpupdate to run? I had reports of "logging in twice" when I figured out what was being reported, the user is seeing CWA login process -> App -> WEM agent UI processing. We have used WEM for a long time, apps are launched with VUEMAppCmd with a delay of 2000. In testing I am the delay working. For the agent launch process I see Citrix.Wem.Agent.ProcessUtility.exe launches gpupdate /target:user /force /wait:0 then waits before starting VUEMUIAgent.exe. With the /wait:0 I think the command should almost instantly finish, but it is taking ~6 seconds for the command to run. Not sure running the gpupdate thing is a newer WEM thing (I think the first report was after upgrading to 2511), or if the gpupdate taking multiple seconds is something new.

I am seeing almost the same, group policy event 1503 in System events being run twice. Did you ever find any information on the behavior or a 'fix'?

Running gpupdate is triggered by having "Process External Tasks" enabled under the agent actions. If there aren't any other external things in the config set then turning that of makes it stop running. All my config sets have external tasks so that didn't help me. I have a case open I am working through. The person I am working with is talking to the dev team. They initially said the gpupdate process was expected because it was part of them setting up a scheduled task to run things on log off.
I did confirm I also see the double 1503 events for each login.
They are having me test an agent version. They changed it so it doesn't include /force on the gpupdate command. It is also only supposed to run gpupdate on the first login.

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated 🙏

The fix is queued. WEMHELP-432 will be what is listed in the release notes. They expect it to be part of WEM Cloud 2.44 and on-prem WEM 2606.
I am only getting 1 1503 logged with the test version.
