Anyone using Citrix Gateway Service started seeing a high number of client connection failures from iOS devices starting yesterday March 4th? Our HD started getting tickets from people with iOS devices unable to connect. No error message or anything, the app acts like its going to open the desktop but never does, the progress window that pops up just goes away at negotiating connection. We opened a sev 2 with support. They claim nothing is wrong. Weird thing is not everyone has the issue and the people that do, reinstalling the workspace app seems to fix it. Coincidentally there was Gateway Service maintenance the night before which is suspicious to me. Chart below shows spike in connection errors starting yesterday
I wanted to post an update on this because I hate it when I find a post for something im experiencing and never see the resolution šŸ™‚ Long story short, for a long time we were configuring the workspace app in Intune to using the workspace in-app browser (Web Interface) (storetype=2). A few months ago to support yubikeys we changed this to using StoreType=1. Two things then happened: • Citrix enabled a "feature flag" (WSUI9953SupportClientDetectionIOS) across all customer accounts the night of 3/4/2026 (US) that broke the "web interface" mode in the ios app. • We also found that roughly 20% of our 8k ios devices that were enrolled in Intune were not getting the configuration properly, so many were still using the old web interface mode. Last night Citrix reverted the feature flag in our tenant which resolved the issue for people still having issues. We have also engaged our internal Intune team to troubleshoot the configuration issue. We are still waiting for more information from Citrix on the specifics of the feature flag that was enabled. When I those specifics, I will post them here.
