Hi guys! We are considering UberAgent and I simply need to know the pros and cons of Control Up vs UberAgent. I think that its easier said than done to move over to UberAgent.
j
uberAgent is free with your Citrix license, most likely. But ControlUp doesn't require a Splunk instance - uberAgent normally does
j
UberAgent does support other open source type data collectors, but requires a lot of your own customizations. The splunk integration is nice, but can be real costly if you don't have it already. I wrote a bunch of elasticsearch grafana consoles for UberAgent you can start with. But they pale in comparison compared to the splunk integration.
j
My approach was always use uberAgent if you're already a Splunk customer, but if you're not - as you say, it probably introduces a cost you're not ready for.

thank you so much guys! shot and clear

Does anyone think they are actually close in comparison? I haven't used uberagent as much as controlup. For me it was even worse than comparing vsphere/xenserver.

thats the question Steve. When customers hear free it becomes a big discussion :D

For me its not a one or another… If the customer already have splunk and there Are no budget constraints both can be used. If you need realtime, (auto-)remediation, helpdesk-scenarios, non-citrix use cases, AI suggestions, Alerting, etc then go ControlUp. As Jeff already mentioned for non-splunk datalake solutions you have to build your own dashboards.
