Good morning / evening everyone. I would like to discuss something that is related to persistent VDIs onprem in combination with Citrix Infrastructure in Citrix Cloud + MCS. So I have an image in vmware which I use together with MCS to deploy persistent VDIs which are then managed through SCCM. VDIs & SCCM is onprem. Now, creating a VDI with an LSI SCSI controller, gives me the option to change the disksize once the VDI has been created. However, creating a VDI with a newer SCSI controller like paravirtual (which is faster and better), greys out that option. Now, disk space is very expensive and I would like to deploy these VDIs with low amount of disk, 100-150. However, together with SCCM etc the disks might get filled, especially if developers are using them with their local SQL databases. My only option right now with paravirtual SCSI controllers is to deploy a 100-150GB disk and then attach a new disk if additional space is required since I'm not able to change the size. What I end up having then is bunch of VMs with a bunch of attached disks and it becomes a mess in my opinion. The reason why Its greyed out is because MCS is using snapshots and paravirtual SCSI controllers doesn't seem to like snapshots 😃 How do you guys solve persistent VDIs through MCS and paravirtual SCSI controllers? Have a nice one!

Hello, I have a strange problem on VDA 2203 CU4 but only with one user and randomly. The concerned user has sometimes his published app who crashed and after that he's unable to reconnect and relaunch the app. On VDA i see error : Eventid : 1050 " Connection validation failed on domain '' for user '' for reason 'Deny'" On computer when I tried to relaunch an application it failed with error 2096.2 in WorkspaceApp. To allow this user to work again, we have to close the session through the Citrix Daas Studio and after that application is launching again. DNSResolution is not enable on our Daas tenant because we had a lot of problem with that, no SSL VDA. Any idea ? thanks

Hi All, I am running into something weird when trying to delete a registry key (not a value) using Citrix WEM. The problem is, that the "Registry entries" action don't support removing a Registry key, only removing Registry values. The only thing that does support this is using "Group Policy" actions. The only thing is.. I need it to be done only once during initial profile creation but would rather not user "External Tasks" for custom scripts to get this done. I tried to get this to work using "Group Policy" actions only, by removing the registry key and creating a run-once registry value, the assigning a condition that checks if the run-once registry value has been created, if not, only then apply this "Group Policy" action. Results are amazing. First time it seems to take both actions, second time, it seems to remove the "run-once" registry value, and do nothing anymore because the registry key exists. Is there any way to get this done without having to revert to scripting?

If citrix cloud (daas) points to your on-prem VDA, is there a way to determine how it spreads those VDA across hosts in a cluster? This is for nutanix specifically but I figure the HV would dictate that.

SAML - Apps Enumeration Problem Hello, I am facing an issue with SAML and Apps Enumeration on Citrix DaaS (with Workspace as portal). Some users (less than five) meets a problem with app enumeration since few days/weeks. They can authenticate to the portal but they cannot see any apps. I think they have a problem with the shadow accounts but I cannot find a way to troubleshoot why. The NameID is based on the email address (the UPN is not the same as the email). Nothing change on Citrix side but I suspect change on AD side (even if the team says that noting change). A case has been opened but I am looking for some tipe to troubleshoot. PS : the SAML Decoder return SID, NameID,... of the user

Entra joined Machine Catalogs using Gateway Services/Workspace; no SSO to VDA correct? Do customers just live with it and/or waiting for the SSO for Azure AD joined virtual desktops (without FAS) to be released?

Greetings. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a DaaS implementation using Citrix Workspace. The VDAs are in Azure. We have both dedicated and shared-nonpersistent pools. We are currently beginning the process of migrating from Windows 10 to 11 (Yes I know we are late in the game.) We have noticed that on our shared pools are not displaying metrics such as ICA RRT and Network Latency in Monitor, while our dedicated devices are. Initially we thought it was a specific delivery group so we ensured the endpoints had the requisite firewall ports to *.citirix.com, *.windows.net and locus.analytics.cloud.com. But after further testing it was identified that endpoints that provided metrics when connecting to one delivery group did not provide metrics when creating sessions to another delivery group. As this pointed to the VDAs we started looking at the WMI/CIM metrics. We realized that on non-working VDAs, the command
    get-ciminstance -Namespace Root/Citrix/Euem -Classname Citrix_Euem
would not return any data but does on a working device. Both the Citrix Euem and WMI services are up and running. We went through our policies to ensure the requisite settings are enabled and are going through them again to see if there is something that we may have mistakenly missed or disabled, but I am looking for any suggestion. Any comments welcome. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Session topology information on the Session Performance tab in Citrix Monitor disappear for anyone else in the past few days or weeks? As in, what Gateway Service POP a session is connected through when connected through Rendezvous? I noticed this yesterday when I started to test with VDA 2507. My 2402 CU2 VDAs no longer offer this information but the VDA 2507 sessions do.

if the environment that I have set up is Citrix Cloud with the VDIs on vmware (onprem), single session persistent, is this the correct installation ? I'm using the vdaworkstationcoresetup and machines are managed through sccm not MCS. Or would you suggest MCS?

Did anyone else receive this dodgy looking, badly formatted email from Citrix? None of our techs got it but one of our admin team (who has a partner portal login) received it. I've never seen an alert come from this address before... seems legit though, all the links are genuine etc.

In our new Citrix DaaS environment, we were able to create a new host connection with VMware yesterday. The customer’s DaaS tenant has four Cloud Connectors, spread across two different domains: Domain A and Domain B. These two domains have an existing AD trust. After setting up the host connection, we ran into an issue where the wizard failed partway through. After rebooting all four Cloud Connectors one by one, we were then able to successfully create the host connection. The initial connection tests ran successfully. Unfortunately, today we are back to seeing failures on both host connection tests:
    text
    Check the hypervisor infrastructure.
Run the hypervisor-specific infrastructure tests for the hosting unit.
    Test run on controllers:
    xxxxxxx-42-1.prodcp7eu.local, xxxxxxx-42-2.prodcp7eu.local

    Controller xxxxxxx-42-1.prodcp7eu.local
A connection could not be established with the hypervisor.
Check the hypervisor and connection details.
    • From each Cloud Connector we can still reach the vCenter directly. • Proxy whitelisting has been configured. • Connectivity Check tool green Does anyone have further ideas or recommendations for debugging this issue?

Does Citrix MCS support VMware Datastore Clusters? In DaaS hosting connection , we cannot see the cluster name but we can see the individual datastores within it.

I believe I’ve bumped into a known limitation within Citrix Cloud / Workspace Configuration. Does anyone have experience integrating Conditional Auth with a Custom URL? I suspect it’s a non-starter as it can’t get past a generic ā€œUnable to process your request. There was an unexpected error.ā€ gray Citrix error page. The non-Custom domains/URLs work just fine, only Custom URL seems to be incompatible with Workspace Conditional Auth configurations. Anyone else seen this? Docs are light but I think it’s ā€œunsupportedā€ and perhaps a roadmap item still. Case opened and researching with Citrix Support. https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-cloud/citrix-cloud-management/identity-access-management/conditional-authentication.html

We've noticed the same issue in the DaaS console - selecting W: as the WBC drive letter at catalog creation. The cloned machines have W: on the first boot, but subsequent boots revert to D drive. Win Svr 2025 with VMware, VDA version 2507.

Citrix Workspace is requesting additional permisssions - does anyone knows if its possible do disable this message (on Citrix Side)? It appears only with the CWA App on Windows. Login with Browser or Mac does not appear. Logon is over Citrix Cloud NetScaler (Service) with EntraID and onPrem FAS to onPrem Ressources. Citrix wrote this Article, but i can't find any config. https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-workspace/experience/policies

If your DAAS premium entitlement expires do you get a 30 day grace period or is it a hard stop ? seen conflicting info. I know you will probaly get locked out of the DAAS service in cloud console and Citrix will delete your site data after 90 days but is there a 30 day grace for sessions or not ? any logon/pop up banners ect ?
