Has anyone layered the new outlook add in for teams? If so did you add it to the office layer or as an app layer wiht office as a prereq or is that not required. I havent done it and have a customer struggling wiht it.

Following. Just noticed that I'm missing the Teams Outlook stuff in new meetings, even though the add-in shows as being enabled in the options. This is on S25, with O365 and Teams being in separate layers with no dependency on one another.
Looking at my old notes, I did use O365's layer as a dependency back in the day of old Teams.

I have Office as a dependent layer to Teams.

So you put teams in an app layer wiht office as a prereq layer and you must eb enableing elastic layering s well or do you script the appx registering
Yea i would think that outlook needs to be installed when you add the add in so Brandon's way of doing it makes sense. The issue is that if you are not suing elastic layering we recommend teams be installed in the os layer otherwise the appx registration doesn't happen automatically. Which is of course a cathc 22
Of course if teams is installed in the OS layer then you can just create an office layer, then have teams add the add in after installing office. If you arent using elastic layering

That sounds like a PITA, though

Why
though everything about teams is a pita
your using el thoguh correct so you dont need it in the os layer
n
What process are you running in the OS layer to get Teams to work, though? Assuming you don't have EL enabled in your image.
r
i think you can run an appx command to register teams on logono

Making O365 a prereq layer for the Teams layer like I did in the past worked for me. Still need to launch Teams once to get the add-on to appear when scheduling a meeting.
