Are RSAT only supported in the OS layer with the newer Elm? Asking since not able to build a layer, always get "Something didn't go as planned" on restart of the layer after installing, but adding RSAT to the OS layer works without a problem.

Elastic layers. Contemplating using them for the first time, but now that teams needs to be in the OS layer it makes Elastic Fit tests for app layers throw errors. What's the guidance here now?

Greetings. We recently migrated our ELM to a new server/versions (2409) in Azure. We experienced a few challenges, the latest being firewall port related. In attempting to build a new Windows 11 image, we experienced the following error. We are thinking this also may be port related. I have seen one reference that indicated modifying the TLS 1.2 setting might resolve. Curious if anyone has experienced this. Thanks for the help.

Hi All, We have a customer currently running VMware together with Citrix App Layering (ELM version 24.9.0.1). We are about to start a XenServer POC, where we plan to build a dedicated XenServer pool for Windows 11 VDI workloads. We already have an OS Layer and a number of App Layers built on top of it. VMware Tools are installed in the OS Layer. As a product, App Layering is supposed to be hypervisor-agnostic and able to support multiple platforms using a single OS Layer. My question is: Will this setup work without rebuilding the OS Layer or uninstalling VMware Tools from the OS Layer? Can we simply build a new Platform Layer for XenServer, using the existing OS Layer (which has VMware Tools installed)? Does anyone have real-world experience with a similar situation?

Office 2024, multisession hosts. Normally we install via KMS but for this release KMS is not an option, we have MAK keys. Big scary warning on the Applayer optimizer says we really should choose KMS, but curious about what gotchas we may run into. Would reference CTX224566 but it was last updated in 2022...

Does the Citrix App Layering ELM support Azure D v6 VMs which use NVMe drives? If not, is this something on their road plan to support?

In Citrix Application layering can I export and then import OS Layer from on env to another? We have a QA environment we patch and after fully testing (OS Layer) it would be awesome to move straight to Production so I wouldn't have to update 2 OS Layers each month. (Note: we are in a bubble env. Patching is done manually.. and I mean manually 🙂 )

Has anyone layered the new outlook add in for teams? If so did you add it to the office layer or as an app layer wiht office as a prereq or is that not required. I havent done it and have a customer struggling wiht it.

Anyone running Server 2025 VDAs in App Layering (2503)? Booted my first provisioned VDA this morning in vSphere, and it's basically stuck in a reboot loop. Boots, gets to 'Getting devices ready', reboots.

Packaging the latest O365 build (19127.20314) in S25, installs fine, but I don't see any Start menu shortcuts for my user. If I create a local account and login, the shortcuts appear. Didn't happen with the older builds of O365. Anyone else seeing this?

Has anyone heard of adding ELM support for Oracle cloud? I have a customer that is stating Citrix is working on it now.

After installing Windows 11 24H2 updates in the OS layer, explorer.exe is now not loading in an app layer built off of the updated OS layer. I had this issue earlier in the year and an app layering update was released to fix it. Anyone else having an issue with this? App layering is running 2507.

We are building a new 2025 image with UEFI, but when we boot from the new vDisk we get “EFI system partition (ESP) error: Unsupported”. The PVS Connector has Offload Compositing enabled with VHDX as the disk format. The VMware Connector has our PVS template selected. When we create the Platform Layer we see the EFI partition, but when we mount the vDisk there is no EFI partition. We also cloned our VM Master and created a vDisk from that VM and it boots fine, so this does not seem to be a PVS issue. What are we missing?

Anyone having issues with the April patches (KB5082123) causing Server 2019 VDAs on PVS to not boot? Ours are failing to obtain an IP and never actually get to the PVS server to pull the image. Posted this in the other channel, but we are using App Layering for this image. Seems to be broken from the April patches onward for us since they're cumulative.

Since updating to App Layering 2603 we've been having issues with the ELM not cleaning up Azure App Layering build VMs after a successful capture. The error on the Azure side when it tries to delete the VM is NoRegisteredProviderFound: "No registered resource provider found for location 'eastus' and API version '2026-03-01' for type 'virtualMachines'." Any ideas?

Hello . I am using Citrix App Layering / ELM with Elastic App Layers in a Citrix Cloud - Multi-user WIN11 - Azure . I need to deploy the Slack desktop app, but Slack is now being delivered as an MSIX package instead of a traditional MSI/EXE installer. I need guidance on the proper way to elastically deliver Slack using Citrix ELM Elastic Layers. We have had major issues trying to do this. Has anyone found a work around with this? Thanks in advance!!

However, the Citrix Roadmap site doesn't seem to exist anymore.
