Anyone familar with Server 2025 RDSH? Installed it from scratch, just the ISO. Start Menu opens that f*cking laggy when connected through RDP. Installed VMware Tools and tried to disable every animation or transperency setting - no change. Working on VMware Console session it is a bit smoother. Minimizing and maximizing windows is horribe, like refresh rate is too slow. Any ideas?

I remember reading this a little while back from @Jeff Riechers https://www.jeffriechers.com/wiki/24h2-windows-11-and-server-2025-vmxnet3-issues/

Beat me to it James. πŸ˜‰ MS did something to the networking stack in 2025 that constantly attempts to offload network stack to hardware, even if it doesn't exist. But disabling those entries seems to address it.

wow - your genius! Makes a big difference, thanks a lot!

@James Rankin are you sure that your comment under the blog post works? I modified the script to check, if the parameter can be set. my names differ to your comment. Also "Disabled" is wrong here i think. Can you check? @Jeff Riechers feel free to use it πŸ™‚
Copy code
$registrykeywords = @(
    "PacketPriorityAndVlan",
    "PriorityVLANTag",
    "InterruptModeration",
    "OffloadIPOptions",
    "OffloadTCPOptions",
    "OffloadVlanEncap",
    "CoalSchemeMode"
)

foreach ($registryKeyword in $registryKeywords) {
    $property = Get-NetAdapterAdvancedProperty -Name "*" -IncludeHidden | Where-Object { $_.RegistryKeyword -match ".*$registryKeyword" }
    if ($property) {
        $property | Set-NetAdapterAdvancedProperty -RegistryValue 0 -NoRestart
    } else {
        Write-Host "RegistryKeyword '$registryKeyword' does not exist on the adapter."
    }
}
