Anyone using Login VSI for application and image change testing? Interested to hear what you think.

@Leee Jeffries is your man. It's a great product.

Do you use it for image change testing?
d
Have some experience with it also. Fire away.

We're a Horizon shop using instant clones. Currently our testing process is 2 guys who go through a checklist in the new images then submit cases to the other 5 teams to verify their applications are functional. How easy or difficult is it to use Login VSI for application testing, like launching an open and performing a workflow?
d
Super easy. If there is not a built in workflow for your app then there is a script recorder that you can use to build your own application test scripts and bolt them into the overall workflow.
Like it’s been mentioned above I’m sure @Leee Jeffries or @Ron Oglesby will be able to help you out with a relevant demo and licensing requirements etc.
c
Thanks! Is it SaaS or on-premise application?
d
An appliance installed alongside the rest of your Horizon infrastructure on-premises.

It's a great product with a great company behind it, their leadership is top notch. The "writing" of the testing scripts can be a little cumbersome as its C# basically, but they've implemented tooling to help with that. They also have a pretty in-depth repository for the more common applications. We did have some issues with some of our legacy applications during the initial implementation (badly coded apps, not the product's fault) that their script recorder tool has since remediated.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks to everyone for their feedback, it's great to hear good things. I've been an EUC Consultant for 8 years now and have used the product extensively. I started working for LoginVSI last year so I can help.
