Oh boy! This age old debate has come back around. My customer is currently using the LSI Logic SAS SCSI controller. I've always used the Paravirtual controller with my previous customers. I provided the blog post to see if the customer is interested in switching. https://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2014/02/vscsi-controller-choose-performance.html

What about having 4 sockets assigned to a VM? Does it inpact performance? In my opinion totally but every VMware admin says something else. I'm a huge fan of placing VMs on a single socket when it comes to VDI configuration.

I don't know the last time I allocated 4 sockets to a virtual desktop machine

Nobody does that on purpose but I see it so often I had to ask 😄
