Guys, I have a customer moving from Windows 10 pooled/random VDI to Windows 11. CVAD has been successfully uplifted from 1912 LTSR to 2402 LTSR, no issues. All is working reasonably well in pilot for Windows 11 but the logons times are very poor. Looking at ControlUp insights we can see that Windows explorer/Shell is taking around 35 seconds to load. Has anyone seen this issue before?

You should look for Active Setup optimizations: https://james-rankin.com/features/the-ultimate-guide-to-windows-logon-time-optimizations-part-7/ This is for Windows 10 but it applies to Windows 11 as well. You should also run Control UP analyze logon script to help you pinpoint but maybe you already did that https://www.controlup.com/script-library-posts/analyze-logon-duration/

Thanks @Steven Lemonier - we do have ControlUp in place, looking at the logon breakdown it reports Windows Explorer/Shell is the longest piece taking 35 seconds! I'll feedback the points on Active setup etc, cheers
