call me crazy but the agent log should show external task execution correct? I am trying to figure out why external task is not executing. these were created in the web console, not the traditional and I can find no traces of them.

Enable debug logging

Have you turned on external action processing??? Had to ask

any messages from the debug log? and the external tasks created by legacy console still work?
s
where is the debug log? I was only looking at the 3 agent logs
s
and do you use the "run once" option/
s
run once is not selected. there is nothing in the debug log referencing external task or the task name. going to create a task in the legacy console and see if there is anything different
no luck with the legacy console either. this is really strange. i know these were working for at least the last six months

Without knowing more details on what and how you’re doing it. Not saying it’s wrong at all. Just thinking try one version back, ensure your user can run the task in the session manual. Login browse to the location that the script or external task would call.
Also when did it work last? What changed in terms of your setup?
Can you share screenshots?
s
i can certainly share some screen captures. anything in particular? I believe it just recently stopped working when I started converting things over to web console to be able to edit action groups. but these were not in any action groups - they needed to be assigned directly due to the filters I needed. So now these test tasks are always true, no filters.
and just like that it started working after spending hours on it. SO what i think was wrong is that the filters/conditions were bad. I use the browser name as these are published apps, and in the condition I had them all listed and separated with ; so ec. app1;app2;app3 - this is whats documented. What I ended up doing was creating new conditions individually and then using the 'OR" feature in the new web filter.
